I'm pretty sure the $69,850 pricetag is intended to undercut the Z06's MSRP of $70,175.

Crow for Dinner.... not yet

OK, I will be the first to say, when the car hits the lot with that sticker price, @ $69K it is priced ok. Of course there will be more to pay the local dealer, but you have to expect that if the car were 55k or 100k. (i already expected markup but was hoping it would not exceed $75 for msrp)

I will galdly eat my words if this stays below $80 after markup, which remains to be seen, but now the other question, will the US get a stick shift????

That is a lot of car, I hope buyers will cross over @ that price, I would like to see more of it on the streets next year!

wannabe,

I'm with you on that..I think you may be right about possible markup...I'm willing to crossover and get "more bang for the buck" if it stays at 69K or below 80K. I know I said before here i'd rather get a 911 turbo than pay for a nissan at 70K but if you look at the numbers it's pretty outstanding....I guess i have my crow already... hahahah

I think the answer to this question will be a resounding NO unless customers complain enough. The dual clutch tranny in the new GT-R, IIRC, changes gears in .3 secs. That's definitely faster than we can shift manually. Plus I think the tranny lends to the cars astounding numbers (consider its weight) just as much as the engine does. If you put a manual trans in this car, I highly doubt you'd see 3.5 to 60 (Nissan's claim) nor the 1/4 in 11.7. My two pennies.
