I know the 135i it's going to be fast and all.. but kinda expensive.. esp knowing people are going to ask you all the time "why didn't you get the 335i coupe?"

Well I believe a base 335i starts at $40k+ and a well equipped one is near $50,000.

The 1-series is based on the E46 3-series chassis. For $36k I would still buy a used E46 M3 over the uglier, surprised-eyes 135i.

The weak dollar is making all imports more expensive too.

I don't know that it is. It will definitely take away from G37 sales. For those who wanted a 335i but just didn't want to shell the money out for one, can now afford one, albeit, in a smaller package. I think BMW played this very smart. They used Infiniti's price advantage against them. One thing that will keep G coupe sales going is its size advantage. For those that want a larger coupe but don't want to pay $48-50k for the 335i, the G is for them. The timing of the 1 series release couldn't have been any better. As soon as the G coupe was released, the 1 series was hot on the G's trail, stealing some of its thunder.

Not really.

The altima coupe is the FWD cousin to the G. Both cars lie in separate brand names, one being the luxury (and more prestigious) division than the other. Those looking for a RWD coupe are not going to look at the Altima.

The 135i is the smaller brother of the 335i and both carry the BMW cachet. Not only that, they are both RWD and carry that same powerful twin-turbo six. Those looking for a RWD coupe will look at both and have a hard time deciding between the two BMWs. Size will play a major role as will price.

just my thoughts.

I mean to the regular consumer the 135 and 335 will look similar to the difference in Atlima C and G35C. Many people don't even know about FWD and RWD.

I don't think 135 is anywhere near a 335

True, true. I'm giving the consumer a little too much credit.

Yeah. Now all the a$$hat G drivers with stretched tires, goofy body kits, and buzzsaw exhausts will have someone to streetrace. In the case of the 135, you can add 'lose horribly to...'
