G35 vs Evo IX

so when i bought my car i wanted a well balanced car. i got that. the 35 is a very well balanced car, and thats what i like. but after having the car for a few months, i crave more performance out of it, but know i cant get the performance i want now. so i came to a conclusion that i am debating whether or not i should trade my 07 G35 coupe 6spd for a 06^ Evo IX. what do you think?

too expensive for now. ive always wanted the Evo back when i was younger, but opted for the 35 because at the time i was thinking what was practical. i personally do feel that the evo is more of a car for me than the 35. what are the pros and cons about switching from a 35 to an evo? i feel even if i go FI with the 35, i wont have as much fun as i will in the evo.

I have both, albeit a 2005 Evo MR and a 03 G35 Sedan, but my analysis should help u. I'll post more about it tomorrow when I have time.

If you're thinking about trading an 07 G35 Coupe for an EVO, then you definately got the wrong car to begin with. I like EVO's, but can't ever see one as a replacement to my G35. If money weren't an issue, I wouldn't mind one as an addition, but not as a replacement.

They are completely two different cars; the G35, like you said, is a well balanced car. Looks, styling, performance, comfort... it gives you a little of everything. Whereas the EVO has nothing more than performance in mind (the looks says it all). It definately is a very fun car.

I think if you really set your priorities down, then it should be one of the easiest choices for you to make seeing how different they are. Goodluck!

I'm in the same boat. wanted the EVO IX at first. but why take a car with already 2 Years depreciation? I'm just gonna wait for the EVO X Already saw it in person thursday that and the GTR. If I had 85K I'd go GTR. But EVO X at HALF the price?

I was at the LA Auto Show yesterday.. I thought the new EVO X MR was really sick looking. I'd be all over it if money is not an issue... of course, I'd rather pick up a GTR if had MORE money... LOL

Love the EVO IX because it was more raw of a car, very bad ***. However the new X is to civilized for me, I mean it has an auto for an option my god.

I work on evos, i tune evos, i am around them every day, i still picked to a g35, they are more comfortable then an evo and make a better driver, yes they are slow but just a nice car all around, evos are a whole new ball game in performance considering a 9 with an exhaust, reflash, and a k&n filter on race gas will net you a 11.9 at the track. it really all depends on what you want. if it is pure performance get an evo, the g35 will never be able to out perform an evo dollar for dollar

im seriously considering it. would love to hear from illusion has to say before i put any more thought into it. but one main reason i want the evo is because i feel im still young and want a better driving experience that i wouldnt be able to attain in the 35. the G to me is more of a car for later down the road, and not now. although it is very nice to have now, but my young instinct crave performance.

That's where you went wrong. Never buy something practical, you should always buy the car you WANT. Compromises are imo, for losers. If you get something you've always wanted, you'll feel so much better, regardless of what anyone else thinks. On the other hand, if you settle for something that's a "smart" choice, you'll regret it the rest of your life.
