Words from EVO magazine editor in the UK...

"The new Nissan GT-R is just a huge disappointment in just one way...."

Amen to that!

I'm sure you can order a "SKYLINE" emblem....if you can afford the GT-R....a few more bucks for the emblem should not be an issue....hopefully I will be putting this emblem on my 2010 or 2011 GT-R

Yeah the name Skyline is a cool name.....

Maybe when they bring out the GTR EVO...they

can add the Skyline name too.

It was a definite mistake considering that "GTR" stands for Grand Turismo racer and it clearly distances it from the heritage that the Skyline name has. Who cares if there are regular skyline versions available like our V35, Nissan should have kept the "skyline" designation in the name.

I agree, besides how many things do you see the letters GT-R stamped all over...

How many other cars have GT or GT-R on them?

SKYLINE should have been the name and GT-R a badge of honor.

Kinda like a Mustang GT,

yeah, i don't get this... they were called skyline gt-r's because it was based off of a skyline. period. (.)

this new gt-r no longer shares anything with the skyline... it's not like the lancer evolution (evo is based off of the lancer chassis, and interior, etc...). it's not like the srt-4 based off of a neon...

the corvette z06 is based off of the base corvette (different engine, suspension, etc...).

the m3 is based off of the 3 series (different engine, susp, brakes etc...).

exactly what does the gt-r have in common with the skyline (v35 to r35) that would remotely align these two (except for the obvious heritage of one to the other)?

why would you take a different chassis, different engine, different interior, different transmission, advanced technology, different platform, and want to call it the same thing as something else?

they may have had the same parent (r34), but they are definitely not the same child. (one was genetically enhanced for your pleasure)

I like the GTR name for 1 reason... I currently drive a "G" (G35 Coupe), so pretty soon I'll still be driving a "G" (GTR)

Oh yah, my license plate is SKYLINE so no need to have emblems for me!
