2008 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra, need Opinions

Well, my mom and I came up with an idea that we are going to give to my dad when he gets back from his trip.

Seeing as the lease is up on the G in April, we have decided, with my help on the payments, that we want to keep it because the buyout is so good and its a fantastic car that will get me through college and into the real world. (i can mod it to finally! )

So, my dad says he doesnt want to make insurance payments on 4 cars and says that if i drive the G, what will he drive?

Well, we came up with a solution. We would both like to "refresh" and seeing as he is gonna have to get a new car anyways, why not? Hell, our newest car is the 04 G.

So my mom and i wanna take the 2003 Trailblazer, and the 2000 Silverado, and trade them BOTH off on 1 new truck. A 2008 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado. Loaded, SLT or LTZ. Maybe even denali. We figure its a nice, comfortable family car, that has tons of bells and whistles for my mom, but can still tow our boat, and haul the dirtbikes, 4 wheeler and snowmobiles. It would probably be a VortecMaxx 6.0 which would be more than enough power (345horses).

So my question is, what do you think of this proposal? (im running it past you guys first before taking it to my dad with my mom)

Sounds like a good idea!

Just make sure before you guys go to the dealership, try and get the lowest pricing around. Get it in writing. After that quote, tell them you'll only get it if you can trade in the 2 trucks.

Thats the way my dad likes to do business, and its smart!

We kinda cheated out our Chevy dealer last summer when my aunt wanted to trade in her 2000 Tahoe with 200k on the clock, for an 07 loaded Trailblazer.

I detailed it all up nice for her, then we took it in, they gave us what they thought it was worth, we told them 'what we had been quoted before' and manged to get $6500 for the damn thing LOL They only wanted to give us 3grand.

Well today i brought it up with my dad and he said its always a possibility.

So i went down, and found a 2008 Silverado ext Cab, LTZ Z71. Loaded except nav and sunroof. It stickered for around 37k.

Tomorrow im going with my mom to "get a quote" for my dad.
