Cars that give the G a run for its $...

Everyone has their success stories on beating certain cars. Some are true, some are fish stories (sorry an EVO will beat the G). But what cars are really equally matched to the G?? The BMW 330 is one I can think of, maybe an Acura here and there. Any honest opinions?

I'll have to disagree with the S2000 and the 450 hp Cayenne Turbo. Otherwise, seems pretty accurate.

I can tell you right now that the TL will NOT run with the G...Sedan or Coupe. I've driven it enough (even one LOOONG run up to New Orleans and back, unchaperoned) and I know of what I speak....

S2000 should be slightly faster than G35C, but not by far.
Cayenne Turbo has a 0-60 of 5.6 sec, it has 450hp but it also weigh like 6000 lbs, so in a straight line, it's a driver's race.

Re: Cars that give the G a run for its $...

330ci maybe....ive unloaded on a couple of x's and other four door variations. My favorites to go at it with are the Lexus GS', Mustangs, de--badged BMW 3's and 5's, and Mazda 6's (I know lol). I do also attract the unwanted attention from M3's, Porsche Turbos and other $55k++ cars.

Honarable Mention: The silver altima that pulled up to me at light last night. Giving me the nod and revving its ricy exhaust. Had him by 4 car legnths at 100 yards. I took a quick right after throwing on my hazards, he probaly told his friends he beat me.

Re: Cars that give the G a run for its $...

why would you compare $50,000 plus cars with the g35. if the g35 was a 50 gran car, it would have like 400 hp. and at 400 hp, it would go 0-60 in like 4.8 sec. quarter mi in 12.7 sec.

In the mid-$30k-$40k range:

Acura TL : trade off performance with luxury
BMW330PP: trade off value for name plate
05 Subaru Legacy: trade off name plate for AWD performance

Hey look the only way the S2000 can beat us is if they have a mod or 2. My buddy has a stock s2000. Whn my car was stock i beat him. My back bumper was about 5 feet in front of his front bumper. And this was 3 times in a row.

Re: Cars that give the G a run for its $...

If you had a driver who could launch the S2k(as in launching in vtec rpms), i believe the S2k would slightly edge out our car. However, not too many people can consistently launch under such conditions. Seriously, I do wish our cars were a few hundred pounds lighter though...sigh

Oh and the Cayenne Turbo would KILL our cars once it gets past 60mph. 450 hp? come on...unless you went FI, there's no way you would get near it.

I own an 04 G35 sedan and an 04 Honda S2000. I agree with the previous post, that the only way an S2K would beat a G coupe was with a perfect launch. I've been driving manual transmissions for years and still find it difficult too consistently launch my Honda perfectley.

of course the 450hp at high speed would kill us (after 60mph), but i am talking about straight line drag racing, not racing on highway.
