Re: Any known Infinity Hybrid in the works?
You forgot the Honda Insight.
Toyota's is the Prius, you were right the first time. Infiniti doesn't have a 'y'. I've also heard rumors of Acura's new hybrid going into the next NSX. 300hp gas powered rear wheels and 100hp electric powered front wheels for an interesting AWD platform. Something like that. I haven't heard of an Infiniti hybrid, but I'd speculate that Nissan will test out their Tino (which I actually haven't heard of until now) before putting anything into the Infiniti line. Hybrids are typically low-power economy cars at this point, and not suited to luxury marquees. Acura might be the first to change that.

Re: Any known Infinity Hybrid in the works?
I believe Nissan licensed Toyota's hybrid tech. I'd expect to see something next year. The new Mitsu Eclipse is supposed to be hybrid with up to 400hp (at least in the concept).
Lexus RX400h is hybrid and luxury, and I'm sure it'll be out before Acura's hybrid RL. |
