335 vs. G35x need convincing to stay with infiniti

To all,

I have a G35x 2007, and I went to test drive the '08 335i coupe in stick and I was impressed. Naturally, when coming from an auto to a stick the control of the vehicle is impressive and plus the speed of the 335i got to me as well.

Here is the deal. I can break even with my car note for the G35x and I am contemplating leasing (36 month) on a 335i (barebone stock model since bmw interior and Idrive blow). I have aftermarket GPS on my G35x so that is taken care of.

Here is the issue. I will be limited to 10K a year, also has anyone heard of the turbos breaking/high maintainece fees that BMW's incur. Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

In all honesty, I am not that good at stick but the pick up in the 335 is clocked around 4.8 and my G35x is in the mid 5's. But the i did not feel difference too much since i was gunning the BMW unlike my vehicle.

Come on guys convince me to stay with Infiniti, by the way I also just test drove the A5 (complete waste of money).

Fuel pumps issues. A large percentage of 335 have needed to replace their fuel pump, some more than once.

"Need to convince you"?? Dude, if you want to go Bimmer and spend more money, do it. If like us, you like the G35 better (or if you want a stick, buy a G35 Sport), stick with Infiniti.

Absolutely. Do whatever you want after seriously researching the options against your wants and needs.

Its really on you whether you want a change or not..after driving the beemer and the 07+ sedan I'd say Infiniti did a hell of a job with the sedan its very comparable to the 335i..however that feeling sitting behind the bmw is completely different and its just a performance handling machine..they also offer free maintainence btw...its really your call, tough one though definitely.

If you are planning to lease than you really don't have any issues to deal with because the car will be under warranty. If you can afford it go for it.

If you plan on buying out the 335 after your lease is up be aware that they do have have problems such as over heating, fuel pumps dying and lots of small electrical problems such as oil level sensors misreading and climate control problems. (not to mention the ridiculous excuse of a cup holder BMW has included in the 3 series)

Trust me I spent a lot of time on BMW forums reading about the problems that some owners have, not all, but some. The Bimmer is a great car but I would only lease one and never purchase it outright.

If you can afford it, go for it but a G35 S 6 speed is just as much fun to drive as a 335 imo...the bimmer has a lot of torque low in the rev range and runs out of steam quickly but the G's motor sings past 4000 rpm.

You can't ask this question on a BMW or G35 board. You will get nothing but biased opinions. Hahahaha.

I would go with the 335.

I like the BMW better for its speed, but have never been very impressed with its exterior appearance or pricing. Maybe with a bodykit I'd like it better but it just looks like most other 3-series BMW's out there to me.

If you were asking about the 2008 M3, that would be an easy choice.

plus i think the bimmer costs about $8000 more compared to a similar equipped G35. I really don't think it's worth it...

x2, but everyone has different preferences. If you truly enjoy the 335i more, then by all means go for it.

Could you please tell us more about the A5 you test drove and why you thought it was a waste of money? I was thinking of getting it next year.
Thanx

I havent driven but let me guess before he responds. The A5 is another boring audi that has no acceleration, turns like an average car. It just looks fukin good.
