Trading in the G ?

Hey guys,

Recently I've been contemplating trading in the G for something a little more fun to drive.
I've narrowed it down to getting a used 03-05 Subaru STi or getting an AP2 maybe AP1 S2000 and of course a winter beater (EK civic/ DC integra) as the S will not be winter driven. I love my G, but i get bored with things quite fast. I'm still only 19, so i can still afford to have a car thats a impractical!

My budget is around 15-20 K, and yes i will be paying for it myself, so anymore and i will have to get a loan and i am not so eager to do so.

I plan on keeping the G for at least this year, and giving it to my sister as her lease will end in Jan and then importing a car from the states.

I'm also open to suggestions for other cars . The only criteria i have is it has to be reliable, fun to drive, and preferably a coupe/vert.

I been over on s2ki.com for a little while, and noticed that its alot cheaper to mod these as well. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg to do a small mod as it does with the G. Also, its a honda so it will be reliable as hell. As well, it has V-TEC!..hahaah

Thanks brotha, man I love these cars. They are so much fun to drive too. I have always wanted a roadster as a weekend toy and I can't think of another car that I would want more than an S2K. My uncle had one a few years ago and I drove it on several occasions. I loved how buttery smooth the tranny was.

Yeah, i realized that after owning my G for almost two years now, i don't even remember the last time someone sat in the back. Also, if i needed a car with more room i could always borrow one of my family's sedans/suvs. I can't believe how much cheaper they are in the U.S.. I believe here in Canada they run up to 50, where as in the states you can get the same car for 30. I think you've convinced me in getting the s2k over the subie, i think id eventually get bored of the STi. Also, no drop top!. I heard the trannys on this are smooth. I have yet to drive one, but have sit in it and loved the way the i felt in it.

Now to just work this year and SAVE SAVE SAVE!

S2K's are extremely fun... I would echo everyone else's sentiments as well as your own - handles incredibly well, fun to drive, cheap to mod...

In an acronym: S2K FTW

Yeah, the prices here for them are crazy. Even used ones hold their value extremely well. You can pick up a good used one in the States for extremely cheap compared to here. Do yourself a favor and take one for a drive, your mind will be made up after the test drive.

I forgot to mention in my previous post that a friend of mine used to have an STi, and it was awesome as well - nothing quite like having AWD with that much power. However, I also think there's nothing like kicking out the back end of RWD car.

Do yourself a favor, and before you decide, launch JUST ONCE near redline in an STi... it's phenomenal

Yeah, as soon as the weather warms up a bit im gonna head over to Honda and see if they'll let me take one for a spin. Being 19 you don't get that much respect. I get no help when i walk into a dealership or high end places like Harry Rosen, i just get brushed off. Its frustrating!
