I wonder if this will be a pig like the other Holden pig, the GTO. MASSIVE UNDERSTEER.

Lightbulb

I'm intrigued by the G8 GXP. It may actually get me over the Pontiac brand image if it drives as well as it looks on paper...

LS3 V8 6.2-liter with 402 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque + FE3 suspension + 6MT

This has the potential to be quite a promising venture for Pontiac. Time well tell . . .

^^ knowing pontiac you probably lose all options for being under 30k, hub caps, cloth interior, less interior room and on and on

nice car, but GM is a bit too late, way too late actually. They've lost a massive amount of customers, they've had to have been blind because it's been coming for years now anybody could see it. You make crappy cars people will buy something else. Which brings me to my question.
How is GM still in business? they're getting killed to the point of bankruptcy, and it's been going on for years. You know it's over when Toyota pickup trucks outsell Chevy and Ford in the southern states of the US. I think the government is the only thing keeping them afloat with secret funding because they can't simply let the world go on without American icons like Ford or Chevy. Long history or not, if you make crappy products you don't deserve to be in business. I just feel bad for all the people that have been laid off from all these domestic factories, they have to pay the price for the poor decisions of these GM execs.

You do have a point. I would not be surprised if the government is providing a financial aid package. Heck, we are spending what $1-2B every week in Iraq; why wouldn't the politicians protect the industrial base where Chevys and Fords are being manufactured.

BTW, anybody else think it reminds you of Audi A4 from the exterior lines?

I heard the suspension is much like the one in BMWs. Which can't possibility be a bad thing!

Give GM some time. They are already putting out some great stuff (Malibu, CTS, Silverado, Enclave) and their stuff just keeps getting better.

Now Dodge on the other hand. Sit in a new Ram or any chrysler product for that matter? They are all cheap plastic. They will go down the tube, i know it.

Ford has been surprising me latly. The Explorer is still a hunk of junk, but the rest of their lineup is definatly improving.

I think the American auto companies (well, GM and Ford) are comming back and they will be at the top of their game again as soon as people go out and look at what they have to offer.

These arent 2002 Chevy Malibu LSs and Ford Tauruses anymore people! These are cars getting rated higher than many Euro and Japanese cars!

I have a ton of faith. Our 08 Silverado, thing is NICE.

The G8 isn't even American...but yeah I've seen numbers. The thing lays down figures comparable to a new G35. If you want a really sporty sedan with no luxury features to save some cash, then its a no brainer.

It'll be a hit if GM marketing can get it right....which they rarely ever do.
