F-150 with exhaust

I heard this F-150 coming down my street today. Totally growling exhaust. I'm not a truck enthusiast but I'm afraid of what else was under the hood.lol I think that thing would hand me my a$$. Ah the sounds of Spring in the neighborhood...

Was it an SVT Lightning? Those things are pretty quick!

Re: F-150 with exhaust

if it was a lightning it probably would have handed your a** too unless you get a good launch. Those things are deceptively fast and its amazing to me that its a pickup

Re: F-150 with exhaust

My brother-in-law has a 98 F-150 with dual flowmasters. He's got the 5.4, and you can hear his truck about 2 blocks away.

Re: F-150 with exhaust

That's about what this one looks and sounds like. What kind of numbers can those turn? I remember a post awhile ago about a Dodge Hemi that was sick.

Re: F-150 with exhaust

I think I have found your answer. BTW, with my brother-in-law's truck, he has an K&N intake, in addition to the dual Flowmasters. He's guessing 20 to 40hp on top of the standard specs. Here ya go:

Re: F-150 with exhaust

Thanks mooser,

So he could be at about 340hp with a substantially greater weight than the G. Interesting.

Re: F-150 with exhaust

I think the stock Lightnings are 380 HP after 2002. 0-60 in around 5.4. The supercharger sounds very sweet. I almost bought one. If you ever get a chance, take one for a spin. The only thing that kept me from buying it was the sparse interior. Sort of like the Viper, it's very spartan.
