05 Acura RL *Update*

Isn't the RL supposed to be their Q? Sort of the "old man's" car? Are they trying for a different market segment?

the RL is supposed to be their m45. They don't have a car in the Q45's class

That looks great. Although the rear looks a little like the current Accord coupe. If that's indeed what the new RL will look like, it'll be very competitive against the M45, I think.

Yea looks alot like the Accord Coupe but nontheless, a beautiful picture.

The front looks like the TL while the back looks like the Accord Coupe. I wonder if this one will sell more than the previous model.

Looks a hundred times better than the current RL, which quite possibly is among the most boring looking cars on the road today, right up there with the Toyota Avalon. *yawn*

Hope they produce it, because inside, the RL is a nice car. It just needed an exterior and better handling to make it more of an interesting car.

They need to make the RL a better car than the TL. I'm mystified as to how Acura is able to sell even one RL when it has the last 2 generations of TL sitting right next to it in the show room. Is there even one good reason to get the current RL over the current TL?

Heavy discounting is the only way, and they are doing it. A friend from work had a '97 TL, which he traded in in 2002. He was able to get a new RL for the same price as a new TL, after all the discounting. He wanted the space and extra luxury, so he went with the RL. Seems to like it, but he's not much of an enthusiast driver.

Finally, Acura realized no more FWD for its flagship sedan.

The NEW 05 RL withe 300+ HP, SH-AWD and NEW CONTEMPO LOOK are the reasons to see today and tomorrow buyers coming back to Acura.

the rl is most likely going to look similar to those drawings. The current 04 TL looks almost exactly the same as the drawings that were made of it. Just a few little changes in the rear and front. Otherwise, i think the rl looks really nice. The interior is probably gonna blow away the 04TL's interior since it is the highest acura. The technology is probably gonna be alot better too. Now that i look at the picture, it looks like a 7 series from the back. The trunk lid and all

Nice Looking. If the SH is anything like the Prelude Type SH then that thing should handle SICK. The Prelund Type-SH had an ATTS (Active Torque Transfer System) Which sent more torque to the outside wheel in a turn. I had one and on ramps were the best part of that car. Handled almost like a RWD. Now that system on an AWD car would be nutz. I think they have had AWD concept cars that utilized the system b4 so I wouldnt be surprized to see it on the new RL.

I don't think Acura had the M45 in mind when they were designing this car....maybe more 5 Series, E-Class. We've yet to see the sales on the new M45...though it is a beautiful car.

On a side note the new E-320 is being made especially to out perform the G35.

I'm pretty sure the RL is in the same class as the M45, E-class, 5-Series, LS430
