Justify why a 2003 G35 Sedan is a better DD than a 2006 RSX-S.

I have come across a clean very very low mileage 2006 RSX-S that I am tempted to buy as daily driver. I've always like the RSX and Type R cousin since they first came out, before I was old enough to drive. It was my first ricer dream car.

The car was babied and its owner is rich and bought it cash ...and the car wasnt driven.

As I have said before I kind of dont like having a 4 door as a DD. Thinking of getting rid of the G35 sedan and replacing it with this. I could keep both but what would be the point? I have the EVO for fun/track and eventually will buy a M5/AMG Benz etc in the near future. (When the GF becomes the wife/or when I meet a bigger gold digga )....

I've discussed my disappontments with the G35 here before. Interior quality, gas mileage, lack of potential, 4 doors, "old man stereotype".

The only thing I wouldnt like about the RSX-S would be the 6 speed and lack of torque around town.
But a Hondata RSX with breathing mods is capable of high 13's..

Any thoughts on why I should keep the G?? Thought?

FWD = FTL But it's your $. I'd much rather be associated with the older crowd than the ricer fast and furriest crowed.

If you are not running kids around, by all means go with the RSX, it's all about what you like and what suits your lifestyle. Plus you'll get better gas mileage!

I'm not keen on the FWD but I'm an old family fart like Jeff so my RWD G sedan is perfect for me.

Piont taken Jeffrey. But FWD= FTL isnt a given. A RWD land yacht isnt more engaging than a FWD well balanced canyon carver for example.

RWD isnt the end all be all...

as a daily driver the RSX is a much better car, it gets much much better gas mileage which would be enough to sway my decision.

I know the gas mileage is terrible on all G's. My buddies Corvette LS2 gets better mileage than our 3.5L VQ's.

So much for old tech muscle huh? The LS series is an awesome engine.

It's your $ but I'll play anyway. I'm not sure how you can call a sedan that went heads up against the mighty BMW 330i and won/tied/lost by a few points in numerous comparisions a "land yacht".

RWD isn't the end all, yes. But imho starting with FWD is like having a make over competition with Jessica Alba vs Hillary Clinton. Why start with a handicap?

RSXs are very nice, well handling cars though. Just that I probably wouldn't consider one as a replacement for the G. Get something fun like a S2000 or something. Elise etc....

True. But I bet if you installed a tall arsed final drive and shifted from 1st to 5th, you would get some decen mileage. hehe

Sounds like you got the wrong car to begin with. Going from a G35 Sedan to a RSX is definately a step backwards unless there was unusual financial circumstances.

But I guess what ever makes you happy is what matters
