Cars

Hey guys. I am looking for a G35 but am having some trouble convincing my parents to let me buy one. So just incase i want to start looking for a second choice. I really like maximas but they are only about $2000-$4000 cheaper than a G. Which is not worth it in my opinion. My dad said a $7000-$10000 is plenty to spend right now.

My question is what cars would you reccomend? I would like front and back seats, manual, RWD, 2 or 4 door doesnt matter. I was told an I35 is a good car(But it doesnt really do much for me, haha Janik sorry, its an auto too). So if you can just throw up cars that you would think I would enjoy, or your previous cars.
Thanks guys!

Your post is confusing. What is your price range? Is it $7-10k? I dont' think there are any G35's for that price.

You can look for a used 325i, Impreza or Legacy (AWD), C-class, or Lincoln LS (an undervalued car).

I know it's not RWD, but I had a 1993 Si Prelude that I dropped a JDM H22A Vtec into. It was a really fun car. The 5th generation preludes (97-01) are better looking, and pretty quick (not as fast as the JDM Vtec though ).

Either one of those is a great car IMO, and you could easily hit your price target. Also, used Civic Si's are down in that price range.

You could probably find a Nissan 240SX, too - that's RWD.

I personally don't like Mustangs all that much, but they can be really fun. You could get a fairly new GT in that price range.

I'll try to think of some other possibilities.

Thanks bluedevil. Yea i agree, mustangs seem old. However I have seen some good deal on them. I couldn't find any Civic SI in that price range. maybe I have to look harder. RWD is soooo much funner to drive. So the prelude would really have to impress me, I'm young and I want to have fun you know. Thanks again!

Well there's nothing quite like reverse donuts in a snowy parking lot Ahhhh the memories...

I ran a blue book value the other day on a 2000 Civic Si with 70K miles (or so) and it came out to just under $9K, so there's hope. However, the prelude would be a lot more fun IMO.

Either way you can be all like this:

Also, since you live relatively far north, you might want to consider FWD because it is unbelievably more functional in snow than RWD, especially if you get a set of Blizzaks.

I'm not worried about the snow. We have a few trucks I could take for a few days. So no problem. Haha, reverse donuts. Never heard of that before.

Any more ideas?

If you have a friend with anything FWD, try the reverse donuts next time it rains (in a huge parking lot with no poles/medians, of course). It works best in the snow haha.

Subie's are great, but AWD = more parts that can break. Ehhh, I dunno. Test drive a few different cars and see what you like. If your parents will do a deal with you where they'll pay 1/2 of maintenance or something then you could always pick up an old 3-series.

Keep looking at damn infinitis.

You can find older Q45s in that price range. They are RWD and a V8. Whats more fun that a big RWD boat? lol slap some headers, full exhaust, and other V8 goodies on that thing and it would be kicka**

Considering your price range you're going to have to hold off on buying a G. My first 2 cars before the G35 coupe were integras and even though they didn't hold a candle to it and were fwd I still miss the fun I had in em. They were a blast to drive! They hold their value very well and are easily modified. The handling on my MT 93' Integra was awesome after only putting on performance springs. Granted it was only 140 hp but the high rev engine was a lot of fun. I don't know if it's out of your price range but maybe look into a used RSX.

Mustangs can be a lot of fun too, but in my experience and personal taste I will never buy domestic for so many reasons (especially not Ford). I guess it all depends on what you’re looking for. It sounds like you want more of a performance type ride.

Even though I'm on G35driver daily I hate typing. PM me for my # if you want more advice.
