I test drove a new 4Runner Sport Edition V8 this weekend and the truck was a beast! 4.7L V8 sure has alot of pick up from a stop!

Yeah, I was wondering how the new one performed. How was the interior space? The 4Runner has always been a good rugged truck. Was it comfortable?

Re: new toyota 4runner's

I don't know man. I went with my brother to test drive one of these when he was thinking SUV (he ended up with a TL), and my comment to him was "this thing has body roll when it's going straight!". I seriously hated the ride in the 4Runner. I guess my G might have conditioned me to a much stiffer ride. He really wanted the 4 Runner before, but after the test drive he admitted that it rode a lot like his POS Mountaineer and crossed it off his list.

Re: new toyota 4runner's

actually, the 4runner has always been one of the few "real trucks," body on frame designs that ride very much car like. Upcourse an SUV will have a lot more body roll then your G35 or his TL. The new Sport Edition tries to eliminate that problem by adding the X-treas suspension which is stiffer and eliminates alot of the body roll experienced on SUV's. The interior of the truck is pretty nice for the price. You can get a V8 4Runner Sport Edition with a sunroof and JBL audio for around 32-33k! To me, that's a pretty good deal considering the reliability and the V8 engine power this truck has. The only thing that kept me from buying this thing was the poor has mileage experienced in many SUV's (15 city/19hwy for the V8, slightly better on the V6). Overall, the 4Runner get's two thumps up from me!
