Help me find a $1000 car for my friend
Alright, a little background info.
My friends parents dont get along, they dont even sleep in the same room anymore, but insist on living together. My friend does NOT get along with them and they randomly get mad at him for nothing (seriously, it IS nothing). The cops have been called to his home because of his dad hitting him, and yea, its just not good... Anyways, he had talked to his mom about getting a car (he needs one, 17, and he just expects all the rest of us to drive him around at $4 a gallon, sorry, aint gonna happen) We figured he could get 1 grand out of his parents, get a loan with them, and pay the payments on a 15k 05 Altima 3.5SE with 53k miles. They wont even talk to him about it. So now we gotta go look for a thousand dollra beater because he needs somthing, and if all he has to pay is insurance, he can manage, just pay cash for the car. But would you guys suggest? H is fairly knowledgeable about cars and can fix and repair them, so its okay if its a total POS (what else ya gonna get for a grand?) We are gonna look at cars this week but i have nowhere to even start and dont know what to recommend for $1000...

yeah, I had an '86 Accord. Lasted quite a while. I traded it in for a '97 Maxima about a year later since I wanted something newer and also wanted something that I was paying on my own rather than have the parents pay for it lol

You could probly find a 150k xterra for a grand, and they last for about 250k and beyond.
