Is it true that the majority of bmw owners are douchebags?

I know one guy that owns a 5 series and he does come off as a douchebag at his job place based on what everyone there tells me. Other than that, I don't know anyone else that owns a bmw. I always hear how they are douchebags. Also, I'm considering in possibly getting a M3. Does that mean I'm on my way on becoming a douchebag?

Judging by this post, yes.

People are people. Some measure their worth by their character, others by their possessions. Some BMW owners are ego-centric. Ditto some G owners.

+1 There are dorks everywhere... It may be that more pretentious types choose BMW, or Mercedes, or whatever - but I know several current or previous Bimmer owners that are pretty cool. In fact, based on my personal experience, BMW owners run at about 10% idiot, which is pretty low

The 10% is caused by one guy in a meeting who, when discussing transport to dinner, piped up with "I can take four other people, because I have a BMW 5-series..." LOL, that still makes me chuckle

Don't lump all owner groups together. I previously owned a 5 series and don't consider myself a DB. I enjoyed the car but when the warranty expired it was too expnsive to own. If you're a douche bag, you are regardless of what you drive.

cars don't make dumbasses, people make themselves look like dumbasses..

it's always the driver behind the car.. not the car itself

In all honesty, I do see more BMW drivers as douche's more than anyone else but at the same time some of the coolest and nicest people I've met drive BMW's. I do however, see a lot of BMW douches that are stuck up are female. Girls are the biggest douches when they drive nice cars.

YES!

This happened at my wife's work.

She works as a Dental Business assistant.

They get a call from new patient that want to come in when he feels comfortable to come in. But of course there is a schedule and they cant see him when he wants. So this guy gets angry and starts making comments about him making all this money and them (meaning my wife and the rest of the employees) being uneducated and low life people. Then he says "I'm gonna come over there and drive my Bimmer all over you guys"
The conversation was over shortly after.

Next time he called my wife picked up the phone again. After proper greeting in ENGLISH his first question was:
-Can I speak with someone who speaks English in your office?
-Everyone speaks English in our office sir. What can I help you with.
-I have a tooth ache
-What kind of tooth ache do you have? Is your tooth chipped? Is there anything wrong with it? (They need to know these things in order to schedule proper procedure and give doctor enough time to work on the tooth)
-I don't know what's wrong with my tooth. It's your job to tell me what wrong with my tooth. I build bridges I don't know anything about teeth.
Conversation went on in a similar fashion and he scheduled the app.

I know a good amount of people who own BMW's, none of them are douchebags. I've seen clowns driving many entry level luxury cars though (not just BMW).

Its funny...from my own personal experience I've noticed that owners of 3 Series, C-Class....G's, are more inclined to be pompous than those who own larger, higher end models.

You know the old joke: What's the difference between a BMW and a Cactus?

In the BMW, the PRICKS are on the INSIDE.....

On your way to becoming a douchebag? If you are thinking about getting Bimmer, then you already are one.
