S2000... Compare with 2nd gen G35; Rice or not Rice?

Since a s2k comparison seems to appear weekly.

Discuss.

0-60 5.3
1/4 13.8@100.8
skidpad .99

The CR is a very well engineered automobile, but god damn, I would never buy it over the base car. It looks awful, imo. Regular S2000 >>>>>>>>> S2000CR.

oh it was all too tempting.

I see a discussion pop up weekly and they all end up locked cuz the OP's question isn't answered or they all go off topic, or the OP's post was fail.

So now, this is a pure discussion thread, with some performance numbers by teh same publication for accurate comparison.

Based on 1/4 time and trap, at some point, the S2k actually has to pull ahead between the speeds of 60 and 100....

Not sure why the debate still goes on. These cars are two completely different cars.

The only thing they have in common is the fact that both are great cars in their own different ways.

In terms of performance...it's pretty straight forward. The VQ35HR/VQ35VHR will out accelerate any stock S2000. But the S2000 will easily out handle any G35/G37. The V35/V36 has great handling, the but S2000 is just superb in regards to handling.

It's funny, cuz I've NEVER EVER had a customer come in cross shopping the two...

Also weird: I get a lot of EVO/STI cross shoppers, but there's never a comparison on the forums....

How did u come up with that conclusion? The only place s2k has a chance is from dead stop and with 7k semi clutch drop on a steaky ground against the HR, to put atleast a car on the HR and then the HR will slowly crip up and then walk on the s2k especially after they cross the 1/4 mile mark. Mike do a 20-70 run with Alan and u will be surprised what the results will be. 20mph because u will be above 6k on 1st gear.

well.

0-60 is identical. thus they reach 60 at the same time.

1/4 mile time is identical, so they reach the 1/4 mark at the same time.

however, the trap speed on the G35 is higher. To have a higher trap speed, but get to the mark at the same time, it has to have had fallen behind to gain that extra speed.....

We already know the result of me running Alan =X

As soon as we hit 80, bye bye. I'm not willing to powershift until I get an upgraded LSD.

I am willing to bet that in magazines test it is the 60ft numbers that go into s2k's favor, therefore having a car advantage from a stop.
