Saw this on E-Bay

I think the seller is smoking crack, but this is a free market economy, and if a crack smoking buyer wants to overpay this much, that is his/her free choice to do so......

... " This auction has a low "Buy-it-Now" and low reserve. Both are set at a value lower than the current market value of this GTR. Local dealerships are selling GTRs for over $140,000."...

Current bid: US $82,988.00
price: US $109,500.00

Item number: 320281462799

I guess they just want to max out their profits by marking it up heavy while the demand is high.

At least he's asking less than the Valencia Lexus dealership which bought one from a Nissan dealership... they're asking $117,990!

The bid is already 10K over MSRP... If I knew for sure I could sell one at 100K I'd buy one at MSRP and resell to put the money towards school. Too bad if I was going to do this I should've acted months ago

I just looked up autotrader to get a reality check, here is what i found:

40 listings in a nationwide search are listed:
(some w/o price)

Highest Price:$125,000

Lowest Price:$72,540

Average Price:$84,405

IF this can be trusted, then the market will not/should not support over $100K if so many are priced below it. However since lots of these listings were dealerships, they could very easily be marked @ that price to get you to come over, and then bait and switch to the old story, 'oh, that was the first unit we had, now our price is $X.'

Either way, I think they will price and sell high for the rest of the summer due to demand, and then fall off slowly over the rest of the year. New Toy and all, this may be like any other high-demand introduction, and then come back to MSRP more then not after initial sales.

Everyone

That's my car.

No, I am not greedy. Yes, I want to sell my car because I am going to buy another.

As Adam Smith commented decades ago, the market will be the determiner of whether the product will sell.

Heck, if I don't get what I ask for, so be it; I will keep the car.

For those throwing rocks, please tell me when you (as a seller) have sold any item for less than what you thought you could sell it at.

What, you want me to be Mother Teresa and give it away for less than someone is willing to pay for it.
PLEASE

You're just an opportunist. Nothing wrong with that.

If someone is stupid enough to pay that, that's their problem.

there is nothing wrong for selling high price. He did invest his money to buy a GTR at first and there is a risk on that. If someone wants to buy you car for way more than what u pay, do you think you reject him?

Orlando333, what's teh feeling of driving/owning a GTR. How do people react when they see you roll down the street? Or, brand it to nissan dealership? Man..must feel like a King.

another question, are you planning to get?

Kene

Do a post search on my name and you will find my posts where I evaluate the car against my other car -- a Porsche 996TT.

The GT-R is the real deal, but its not a true driver's car. The car drives the driver, not the other way around. You do not feel the sensation of speed or the feed back. The best way I can describe is that a 996TT provides physical feedback; the GT-R does not.

As for what I am getting next, I am looking at three options a 997 GT2 (which is unlikely given the absurd premium), a 360, or an R8, especially if the issue the R10 TDI.

Cool. I am just giving it back.

I love the car, but if someone wants to pay me an absurd price, then who am I to disagree.

At the end, cars are cars; there will always be a new one around the corner that will catch your eye.

Just curious. What do you do for a living? How old are you?

I always wonder if someday I have a chance to get those expensive toys by just working 40+hrs a week as an average employed engineer. I am sure my many of my bosses making 6 figures/year and have a very great life, but i am sure most of them do not hav exotic toys like urs, since they have a house, family, kids on their back.
