tech forgot to put on brake shims...
So the other night i pick up some brake pads and rotors for my parents toyota sienna van. They other day my parents had them installed. they brought home the old brake pads (worn out) but to my surprise the shim was still on there! so there's not shim on the new brake pads.
so my question is, what's the role of the shim and should I bother to have them take it back in to put the shims on? Last edited by dieselaznrock : 08-14-2008 at 10:29 PM. |

Shims are only there if you need them. Not every car does.
If the brakes work fine..... I wouldn't sweat it.
