So is this a good lease deal for an M3?

OK, so I've been looking to lease an M3 for awhile. I went for a test drive and the salesman told me to keep it below 4K rpm which I thought was reasonable, but then he also told me that if I were to lease one, then for the first 1000 miles, I have to keep the engine under 4Krpm otherwise the warranty will be voided.
The car seems pretty smooth but you can't really tell much if you can't go above 4Krpm.

Anyway, I am looking for a base M3+ 19in. wheel option which comes out to around 57K even. With 5K down, the monthly payment is 1050.

I am not too familiar with leasing, but it seems a little high. What do you guys think.

lol way to leave out one of the key parts. On a side rant, this is how much a loaded G costs in Canada. I could have had an M3 if I lived in the states, cool!

Get a Corvette for $600 a month or under with nothing down.

M3 $1,050 x 36 months (assumed) + $5,000 = $42,000
Vette $600 x 36 = $21,600

Seems very high....so they are saying the M3 will only be worth 15k after the lease is up? I realize you have to factor in the interest.

That's absurdly LOL high.

Your salesman is an idiot too. Theres nothing I hate more than incompetent salesman. How do you expect to sell me a car when I know more about it than you do? If I sell the car to myself, I may as well just get your commission check too.

ya thats really high for a lease, even for a finance. With 5k down you'd be financing 52k, over 5 years it would be close 850-900 depending on your interest rate.

With a lease (not knowing your MF, term) etc it should be less around 750-800 I believe

Sorry, the lease was for 24months. All my previous cars were purchased so I am not too familiar with leasing but it seems high to me. Just for comparison, I went to Porsche website and tried to configure the same lease term as the M3 on a base Cayman S (since pricing is similar), and it came out to be around the same.

Actually my other option was leasing a Corvette. I plan to take a test drive sometimes this week.

Thanks for all the responses.

You're kidding, right?

My '06 G35 lease costs me CAD$700.00/mo taxes incl. for 48 months, and I paid $0.00 up front (not just $0.00 down, but no delivery, no first+last month).

'08 G35 prices are even lower now with the exchange rate adjustments.

That's why the monthly payment is so high.

Typically, 36-48 month leases work out to much better rates.

A fully loaded G is about 57k, which is what I was referring to.

36 months. Residual value of $28,065. Money factor of 0.00219. Monthly payment of $843. Based on credit score of 730 and 12,000 miles a year (you will have to plug in the numbers). I'm pretty sure that BMW Financial is offering comparable terms. Sounds like the finance manager is trying to get paid on the back end of this deal (if in fact car finance works the same as mortgages which I believe it does).

Also, I agree with fecurtis 110%. Your salesman is a complete moron. Break-in is 1200 miles. You cannot rev over 5500 RPM during the break-in, or drive faster than 100mph and they can tell by plugging in to the OBD. If you do not adhere to the break-in it will void your warranty whether you lease or buy.
