New M3 or Corvette?

If money not a factor I personally would go with the M3 but it costs so damn much. I like the M3 clutch and gear box as it is pretty light and almost light as my old Accord. After test driving the M3, I went back to my G to unwind the VQ and it actually felt pretty good.
I'll go test drive a Corvette this weekend and see how it goes.

I would personally take the NEW M3 over the regular C6 if money was not an issue.

M3

Both cars are great. Power and design are both great.
But the biggest factor for me all the time is that, with all that power and exterior design; a complimentary interior should also be present.

I'm not a big fan of American Car Interiors. IMO they still have a long way to go to improve in that department. Not a big fan of big buttons like what they do to a majority of American Cars. Though some Japanese trucks like the Toyota's are adapting to big knobs I guess to compliment the roomy cab.

Oh after seeing BMW's crashing at the Autobahn at great speeds and drivers still walk away from it...yeah another plus.

IMO

Since you know what you want with money not being a factor: M3

but since money is ALWAYS a factor, I'd get the regular C6 vette with 1LT option and add a double din navi/dvd unit to it. People have been getting 08 vettes fairly cheap, I think i was quoted like 41k for a 1lt auto vette. The new m3 costs what? at least 60k IF you can get your hands on one. And though i like the M3 also, for those that don't know nice cars, they'll just think it's a really nice 3 series.... EVERYONE can spot out at Vette though...

I would say the Vette for the money. You can get one at 0% for $40K right now. Since you are already looking at $55k+ for an M3, why not wait for the GTR when demand stabilizes?

Don't you mean IF demand stabilizes? I'm not sure of the future production numbers, but I think they'll still be rather limited, and I'm not sure for how many years they'll actually produce it. When I asked my local Nissan dealer about future years (only 149 09's coming to Canada), they said they have no clue IF there will be any more. I realize they usually have no clue what they're saying, but still.

Why bother with a M3? The BMW 335i is almost as good and much cheaper. You can get one with decent options in the $40k range which is a better comparison to a standard Vette than the M3. As much as I dislike the stigma behind the propeller badge and the crappy fitment issues on the 3ers, I'd say a 335i is a better choice than either a Vette or the M3.

If it were up to me though, I would buy a G37 over either one of these. New Infiniti coupe designs are to die for - think $30k Aston Martin.

Well . . . they are producing 1,000 a month. I didn't ask our dealer how many are coming to the US after he told me they would be pre-ordering at MSRP in September, but 149 to Canada for all of 2009 sounds slim to me. Of course, Canada is about 1/10 the population of the US. I would assume that Nissan did some forecasting on what price the market could bear for this vehicle, don't you think? I couldn't see them allowing the dealers to make an extra $30K per vehicle indefinitely because they misread demand.

The bottom line: the base M3 is quite a bit more than a base vette and if you get into that price point, why not a GTR on the G forum?

I'm assuming you're speaking of the base C6 Corvette. If that's the case, I would take the M3 over the Corvette.

Now, if you were speaking of the C6 Z06 vs the E92 M3, I would take the Z06 in a heart beat
