SL55 AMG vs. 911 Carrera 4S
I saw these two beauties on the parkway the other day, but their drivers were less than content with each other, flipping each other off and exchanging some verbal vulgarities (both cars had their tops off). It was shortly after I merged onto the parkway and I assume I had probably just missed a mini competition of some sort between the two. The Porsche driver kept on trying to cut in front of the AMG, but the latter kept on pushing and pulling behind the car in front of it, annoying the 911 driver. I guess the AMG driver cut 911 a bit earlier, and the 911 was now trying to return a 'favor'.
At any rate, I was wondering, which one would take on a straight line. I know I can look up the specs, but sparking a debate is better

SL55 should have edge as speeds increase.

In a drag, I'm not sure. When I saw the title, I thought it was a "which car to buy" in which case it would be 911 C4S /thread. The SL has nothing on the 911 except for maybe straight line speed.

C4s's are nice, but they aren't not a straight line car.... I'd favor the SL in that race. Now if it was a Turbo or GT3 it's a whole different story

SL should definitely be faster.

c4s in corners, sl55 on the highway. handing of the 911 is just awesome. sl55 is a heavy beast but they make up for it with big power.

if it was an older model (2001ish) C4S it was gonna get smoked. SL55s are too quick. My older bro has a 2001 C4S and he didnt beat me by much. (they do 1/4 mile in 13.5)

the sl55 would have won hands down. That thing is faster than a Ferrari 575 Maranello.
