is this info true for the gt-r?

http://www.mdstreetscene.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=19084

-Can only launch the car 15 times before the transmission gives out. The most Nissan has got was 34 launches.
-The fluid lists at 80 dollars a quart. It costs dealerships 49.99 a quart. The car takes 10 quarts.
-The warranty depends on the driving, there is a black box in it just like an airplane.
-Customers have to sign a waiver stating they will not complain about brake or transmission noise.
-The brakes MUST be replaced at the same time, cost for replacing 6500.
-If something goes wrong other than an oil change at the dealership, a special team needs to be called and your outta a car for a while.

If that is true, then good thing Nissan decided not to release the GT-R as an Infiniti.

You have to log in for that link to work. Sound like the GT-R just became a more expensive proposition.

I can tell you that hard launches on an AWD transmission is not easy on components. I had a turbocharged AWD Talon and I went through plenty of spider gears, transmissions, and differentials. I wouldn't be surprised at that number, but I wouldn't pin it at 15.

Yes, tranny fluid is $80 a quart and IIRC the change interval is somewhere around 15k. No flush, no more warranty. Can't comment on the dealers price though.

Yes it does have a black box.

Brakes must all be changed at once. You can't just change pads, you MUST change pads and all rotors. Can't comment on cost but it won't be cheap.

Don't know about a waiver. Wouldn't be surprised of brake noise.

Each dealer that is approved to sell the car must have a lead mechanic and service manager go through extensive training to service the car. If you go to an authorized dealer then they should be able to service the car with no problems.

For those of you who think this is a bad deal you must remember the performance of this car vs. the price. You don't think GM is doing similar things for the ZR1 with their warranty? Do you really want to drive a Gallardo, Viper, or F430 daily? I agree the maintenance is a b*tch for this car but I think some people are nit picking too much.

Fawk that they can keep that 80k peice of metal. I mean yeah maintenance is a PITA but 6500.00 to replace brakes.... and 80.00 a quart for tranny fluid. It's a nice car but for what you pay and for maintenance I'd rater buy a Porsche. JMHO!

You had better opt out of the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) then, your looking at around $10k for that one. I do agree though, I'd take a 911 GT3 over a GTR anyday.

You gotta to pay to play!

Word. Nothing against Nissan on this but ... yeah. If you got a GT-R, you rock and I'm jealous but I'm not feelin this car like I used to. The restrictions, the maintanence, etc have just turned me off. If a car comes to me with a certain set of restrictions or the warranty is void, that simply tells me the car wasnt built well enough, especially a performance car.

I call BS on the brakes. Isn't Klumzyee selling them WITH calipers for less than 6k? Just pads and rotors can't be that much. And if they are, buy your own and put those in.

Go for it but if you are not a trained Nissan Master Technician (or maybe even if you are), the dealer will say that them not doing the brakes voids your warranty as they have no proof you did it right ....

i'm just guessing mind you, but it would not surprise me one bit

uhh, that's easy.....ALL HANDS EMAIL

we had a guy get fired for that, he sent out a "minority unfriendly" email and accidentally sent it to everyone......we had an over/under on in minutes on how long it would take. I think it was around 30.
