do not launch your gtr or take the vdc off, time to bend over guys its gonna hurt

I told all the fanboy's on these forums, but noooo they didnt want to listen!!!!

I was driving my gtr two weeks ago and I heard a loud noise coming from the rear. I turned immediately had my gtr towed to crown nissan st. petersburg fl. They didn't touch my car only called some techs from tennessee to look at the car and record the noise, 4 days later two guys from japan to download some info from the car then left. Then I get a call from the dealer to tell me the news, and they told me that the car was driven without vdc too much and nissan will not warranty the transmission which they said was destroyed, I asked them how much to fix it they told me 20k, no freaking way I will pay 20k on top of what i just paid for the car. I called the gtr number and also talked to nissan consumer affairs got nowhere, now the car is sitting at the dealer. I know we shouldn't launch the car but why own it if you cant use this function, don't sell a car that goes 0-60 in 3.4 sec if the only way you can achieve this speed is to void the warranty , false advertising. Here is the bad news people were fearing it has happened to me and Nissan has told me there are already three people in my shoes, if you are one of these people email me, we have got to get together on this. Just think if any of you guys have taken the vdc off just a few times you have already voided your warranty, good luck what a joke nissan.

wow .... I have no way to express what I'm feeling right now. "That sucks" doesnt even come close. $20k to fix? Did you get a print out or a file on what they got from the black box?

I cant even imagine the nightmare you just stepped into. Good luck and hope you get some better news.

Apparently, I need more coffee but that still sucks. I wonder if these kind of stories will hurt sales?

I'm reading those requirements and my mind is translating as I go .....

"Thank you for buy your new Nissan GT-R. We now own your soul. Theres not a damn thing you can do to this car that will not void warranty so just forget about it. We'd also like to take this time to say you have to have all services done by us as not doing so will void your warranty.

Also, if you drive the car as designed, it will void warranty as it was meant to be driven like a Buick. Thank you again for your patronage. we expect your bills to be extremely high so please include your bank account numbers along with your signature."

so much for any one thinking about buying a used GTR...most likely that used GTR is going to be voided from warranty. You will have to take the vehicle to Nissan prior to buying it to see just exatly what is on the "black box"

How is driving with VDC off going to hurt the car? I was under the impression that TRACTION breaks things, not lack of traction. It seems that driving WITH VDC should void the warranty!

Fawk that. I wouldnt spend 80k on a car that has no warranty. Nissan just doesnt know that they are really screwing themselves in the long run with those BS warranties. Why build a car with such cheap parts. That guy is already having tranny problems..just goes to show you that this car is going to be nothing but an 80k peice of scrap metal. Porshce doesnt even give its owners half the problems with warranty as Nissan is.
