$18,500 1990 300zx TT?!

So about 4 blocks from my house there is a very clean looking 300z TT for sale. For the past week ive been driving by it on my way to and from work and each time I get more and more curious about it. Today I broke down and finally stoped to look at. Its turns out its a white 1990 300zxTT AT with white wheels and maroon leather interior. Its one owner and has 48k miles on it. none of the leather is cracked and there is minimal if any rust on it. Then I had to do a triple take when I saw the guy was asking $18,500 OBO. I understand that the car is a cherry, but is it really worth that much?

The car is only worth what someone will pay. Maybe it's worth that to the owner but I don't think there is any way he would get what hes asking.

Low mileage TT's have sold for more before. He just needs to sit and wait for the right buyer.

i've seen plenty low mileage TT's go for 15+ but that color combo was not hot at all. He's going to have to be patient if he wants to get over 15 grand for his car.

well, a 98 TT supra goes for 40K , depending on condition, but seems ok with that many miles , but hows the engine though ?

With those miles and car condition I'm sure the engine is fine. They are reliable cars if maintained properly and turbo's should be good for 90k+ if they werent abused.

I guess the 300ZX was in C&D's top 25 most beautiful cars of all time because its so unliked. Supras were released in lower production numbers which drives up their value.

Really? I guess I'd like to have a bit of whatever they're on. The Z32 has always been the ugly duckling compared to it's competition. I'd like to see one person that finds it more aesthetically pleasing than an RX-7 FD or a MKIV Supra. Those things are freakin gorgeous, and timeless designs. A Z32 looks so dated.

Here I am. I'd take the 300ZX over either of those. It's a gorgeous car especially with the updated 99 front end and revised taillights.

If they are well maintained they wont give you too much trouble. I'd rather do up keep and maintaince on a 300zx over a FD RX7 which requires all too common apex seal replacement and have overheating issues. The engine bay is cramped and you may find yourself lost at first but after you get around the car a bit things become second nature. It's definitely no civic where you can see the floor after opening the hood.
