Question What is your 2nd car?

We used to have a Ford Escort but sold it before the wedding. Now that the weather is getting cold, my G is RWD and 6spd, I probably wont be driving it much in the snow here. I'm thinking about an older Sentra but the wife is wanting to get a "family" vehicle (large SUV for the 4 of us). Anyone in the same boat?

1993 Civic LX Sedan 5spd
1.5L of pure unbridled fury. The 16 valve SOHC pumps out 102hp and barely enough torque to keep up with traffic. Factoring in the price difference from regular to premium, it gets nearly 3 times better fuel economy than the G.

my second car...

not into that stage yet obviously, but in about 1 year I can see us getting something cheap yet comfortable. Maybe a Nissan Murano, or some midsized crossover. A sedan would not be big enough.

08 Altima 3.5L......got this as lease after trading the 04 Expedition when gas was above $4.00. The truck was paid off so the Altima lease was free for 39 months. Basically an even trade for better gas mileage.

^there must be something wrong with your G then. My wife owned a '92 civic and I'm familiar with their fuel economy.

She has a TSX so that car my go and be replaced by something larger (she would drive) then i would pick up a "beater". i was looking at Civics before and MAN folk are "proud" of those cars (used). Anything less than 100k on the clock was about 5k with a clean body, etc.

Nice best of both worlds, I have a 4x4 as well...

99' Landcruiser, setup for overlanding/camping. Also plan to use it when there is snow on the ground.

We have a Ford Escape in addition to the G. I have been searching recently for a 3rd car for weekend use. Either a Lotus Elise or Exige.

Kept the Ford Focus for a while after getting the G. Wish I still had it now. I really loved that car.

G fillup = 63ish L -> 85 bucks -> 550km
Civic fillup = 39ish L -> 35 bucks -> 520km

Actually.. good catch.. I completely forgot that the price of gas plumeted at about the same time I put my car into storage and switched to the Civic

I've got to stop this. I always seem to be keeping you honest. That works out to about 52% better plus maybe another 7% for the regular vs. premium.... quite away from 200% better.
