I do but thats in my G35X sedan. But why would you give some one the option to turn something off that would damage the car and void there warrenty, Hell it a option Nissan built and put on the car?? Makes no sense. The reason you turn it off is to use LC and them BANG warrenty gone!!!

i guess i don't understand this wisdom...

this has been discussed repeatedly...

your statement is false. and if it was in the article, the article is false.

if you'd like for me to reword that so you understand more clearly (because you obviously don't understand the clear wording in the warranty statement by nissan), i will. or, if you don't really give a sh*t, than please keep your lies to yourself, and stop spreading false rumors.

As explained a hundred times before............VDC off is so that you can use it in a situation where your car may be stuck in the snow, mud, and in my case since I'm in Hawaii....sand.

This is clearly stated in the owner's manuals and the disclosure form that the dealer is supposed to review with their customers.

What everyone seems to ignore is the fact that top fuel dragsters and funny cars break parts. These cars are assembled with the express intent of 1/4 mile racing. They are rebuilt after each run, yet things go wrong there too.

All things mechanical break. I find it odd that some car guys refuse to acknowledge that. One of the first things you are taught in a firearms safety class is.......mechanical things (firearms, safeties, etc.) break.

So...... Nissan ran the GT-R on oNurburgring with the VDC on? All the auto magazines did tests on the GT-R with the VDC on?

I run my G35 Coupe with the VDC off when I am on the track, because the granny systems takes the sport out of sport coupe. With the VDC on the GT-R would simply be a GT. Launch control I can understand - don't put it into the car or reprogram it, but denying warranty for turning off the VDC is borderline ridiculous.

yup. vdc on 'r' gives you the best performance. vdc off just lets you go sideways.

nurburgring - 'r'

every car manufacturer (that knows the car) - 'r'

when i track - 'r'

What jasper it referring to is a direct statement from Nissan that basically says this:

If you turn your VDC off and it is determined that doing so directly contributes to the transmission failure, then they will not cover the repair of the transmission. This is in fact exactly along the lines of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. If it's off and you are freeing yourself from mud or snow as indicated in the owner's manuals then Nissan will cover you.

Turning VDC off does in itself not automatically void your warranty, that was stated by Nissan.

FYI - Performance Nissan had ordered a transmission for a GT-R owner. We (or at least I) do not know who the guy is, but it was drop shipped to the purchaser for something along the lines of $12,000. If PN still hooks guys up like that (not taking any profit), then I'd say the transmission replacement is probably more like $14,000 (still a pretty bitter pill to swallow if you are footing the bill).
