Race w/ Supra and STI

Forgive me for I have disgraced the G family...

All three of us are cruising down the ave... I am about 4 car lengths back The light turns red (3 lane Rd..) They both stand on their brakes to stop... I 'm in the middle and I look over at both and say: I'm not messin with either of you.. They both chuckle and the Supra driver says this is a non-turbo.. I'm like oh.. But the light turns green while I'm not paying attention and they both get the jump.. At first I am contemplating against it but I punch it anyway about a half second later.. To my suprise I broke even with the Supras acceleration although I waited but I did not pull on him.. The STI kept pulling away until second gear.
At the next light though we all gave each other thumbs up. I think they knew that I didn't launch but it wouldn't have mattered anyway with the STI.

STI’s are just to fast. You can’t mess with the all wheel drive 300 horsepower 300 lb of torque. I drove an STI and it put my Supra to shame. Not to forget that it runs a low 13 to high 12 quarter mile stock, but hey….the G35 looks better!

Yea the Sti is a ridiculous, no joke BEAST lol..... It doesn't look as nice as a G35 but it also has its own unique look! I still love the M3 over anything mostly within its class!! Dunno why , Martin

Supra_TT, how did the STI put your Supra to shame? judging from your screen name & polished wheels in your pic, i'm assuming you're turbo... if you've done minimal mods, i don't see how STI would put Supra to shame - it would almost certainly be the reverse unless you're talking strictly track setting; even then, it would be more even than "shame."

My supra is a twin turbo, but it is stock and the sti I drove was also stock. The reason why I say the sti feels faster is because of this….my car does not hit full boost until I am in the higher rpm’s (that is when the second turbo kicks in) compared to the sti which hits boost earlier around 4,000 which is the reason why the sti feels to pull harder. From my experiences driving both of them I say stock vs stock, the stock the sti will walk the supra in a drag race, but modified it would be a different story. The supra responds way better to mods than the sti, with just minimal mods the supra could produce close to 500 crank horsepower. The supra is capable of more horsepower because of the iron block where as the sti is aluminum, so if my supra was bpu (basic performance upgrades: downpipe, exhaust, boost cut controller and boost controller raised to 18 psi) then my car would for sure beat an sti hands down. The reason why I said the sti puts the supra to shame is because the supra is more expensive, has more horsepower and more torque yet it can be beat by a four door with less horsepower and torque which cost less.
