I think the Caddies are getting too much credit. The CTS-V is a nice car, and it is unmatched in its segment, but the regular CTS is a failure on 4 wheels. It's not that it's a particularly bad car, it's just that its competitors are much better. That can be said for any domestic save a few. Currently ones I'm aware of that are uncontested are the G8 (only because it's cheap), CTS-V, and the various trim levels of Corvette. Even the G8 is questionable to me, as I'd gladly pick a slightly slower, but far more refined G37 sedan over it.
I do admit that the list could be expanded to include certain trucks/SUVs. I personally hate all of them, whether they be domestic or import, so I've never bothered to see how good anyone's offerings are.

So pretty much American trucks/SUVs are the only American vehicles I would buy.

Pontiac G8... would have wheels on order to replace OEM
CTS/V...same as G8
Ford flex.. great looking people carrier US Xb
Mustang GT/500/Bullit.. track car
Camaro... new cant beat the LS series motors. HUGE aftermarket if they can stay in business
Frord trucks rule... extreme family bias
GMC Denali series alsway ahs been my favorite series of vehicles
Never been a Mopar fan. New stuff is soo much better than anything they ever made though. Old Chargers/Challengers are crazy $$$$, collectors shot their load.

The new CTS-V, Z06/ZR1, S7, Viper, GT. These are dream American cars that aren't your traditional American junk.

There are also some new nice American cars that im not sure if I would buy. (ie. Pontiac G8, new Camaro, new Challenger, etc).

.

WELL SAID!

How is the CTS garbage on 4 wheels? I've sat in one and its got a much better interior than the G35, I'd even go as far as to say its got the best interior in the segment.

Every review I've read for it has nothing but praise as well, it also won MT's COTY last year.

Some piece of garbage. Unless of course you're using performance as your only metric in which case its slightly misleading. The car is the size of a 5-Series so of course the cars its priced against will perform better from a performance standpoint but the CTS is no slouch.

Cadillac is supposedly working on a new vehicle that would compete with the 3-Series and G35, etc in terms of size and performance.

My dream car! Rarer than a Bentley. I think less than 10 have been sold. This is a true stealth car. No one knows what it can do.....no one!

263 HP and 249 Ft Lbs from a 3.5L V6 in a full size sedan that weighs only 3,820 Lbs. Yeah, you read that right. Show me a European or Asian sedan that can match those numbers!

They can't! They can't match the 21 cu ft trunk or the 40 ft turning circle either. That's luxury! That's real engineering!

Plus, you get the legendary Sable name and Mercury quality.

Thinking the same as others, G8 GXP, CTS-V, Challenger SRT8, any Corvette

I'd probably have to supercharge the G8 or Challenger though, those things are porkers. Don't think I could do 4000 lbs without some serious power.

Saturn is American, but I'm almost 100% sure that the SKY/Solstice is just a rebadged Opel Speedster.

In a recent comparo, the CTS outranked the Lexus IS350 AND Mercedes C class and came in third place behind the 3 series and G.

IMO a merc C class is a failure on wheels... (unless AMG)

I still want one of these.

Tune, Exhaust, Intake, Supercharger and you got one helluva grochery getter that will still tow 6500lbs.
