all of a sudden I want a truck.

My friend and I have been talking about trucks recently, now when you think of trucks you think of home depot, pulling trailers etc. the thought of "performance" and trucks never really crossed my mind until I started looking into it.

On our G's to get +100 whp means turbo/sc so your looking at spending easily 6-8k for a decent turbo, not to mention if you want more you need a built engine etc.

Now lets look a diesel (Clarkson would have a stroke at the mention of it) truck. Yes stock they are pretty damn heavy and slow, but take a simple turbo diesel truck, throw in a couple of mods and you have a monster. On the G/Z it takes a ton of money to get +100 hp, on a truck an ecu tune can get you and increase of over 100 rwhp and over 200 lbs of torque! So with only a chip you could have 400 hp and 700 lbs of tq... bolt a new turbo and run over 550 rwhp and 40 lbs of boost no need for sleeves and doing all that crazy stuff.

10 second 1/4 in a truck (not sure what all it has done to it but its nuts)

i see diesel trucks at the track all the time that are "fast". one may be my next investment when it's time to replace the shop vehicle.

Sister and her BF are mvoing to Virginia soon and plan to buy a Ford F250/350. He is going to chip it and put a bigass 5" exhaust on it.

Going to be nuts. I wouldnt mind one. Definatly are cool. Imagine pullin up next a prius at a light then hit the beans and fill it full of black soot. Would be so funny and so bad all at the same time haha

My 2004 Dodge 4X4 2500 Crew Cab Diesel easily makes 400/700 - probably slightly more. The only reason I don't go higher is because I have the 48RE auto - they recommend a 500HP limit.. I play it safe.

People ask why I don't mod my G, I just point at my truck and say usuable power.

5" is overkill. Lose the can and go 4" and you get all the gains (less heat etc) and still sound good. Unless he's getting into the motor with injectors etc, no need for 5".

Depends on what you do with it. I never liked anything big and heavy, I think the G is already bigger and heavier than what I want my vehicle to be. Most of the fun I have is not in a straight line. Next car I'm aiming for ~3000lbs curb weight.
