Tax Return = 2nd Car for GF.

Right now my GF is driving a 1998 Ford Taurus POS with a CEL and an auto tranny that shifts at 4-5k ALWAYS. It smells like horses and the AC is dead.

I'm looking to spend between 4-10k on another car.

Her requirements are such:

Comfortable
Cute
Good Gas Mileage
I have to be able to fix it(so honda? nissan?)

I've been looking into:

2000+ Celica
2000+ Civic
s13
s14
Integra?
pay a big amount down on a 350z for around 15k. Finance around 8k. Trade in taurus for 1k.
Scion TC
Acura RSX
Acura Cake

Theres a ton of cars I'm forgetting to look into. What do you guys have to say? Any recommendations on good car in my range?

Thanks buds.

P.S. I wish I could just fix her car and drop a Turbonetics ST in my G

Go for the 350 but the rsx would also be a great alternative.

I think the Mini is the best bet. Cute, quick, super fun to drive, very easy to work on. You could trade/sell her car and hopefully find one for a good price.

im in the same boat right now. my girl uses my G for work..we just moved so i need to get her another car for her daily drive.
im debating on a 2dr integra, which i use to drive, or a 4dr civic (more practical)

for suggestions:
i would look into a 4 door. im assuming ur gonna be driving it as well.
easy fixers would be a civic or and 00-01 integra or even a small suv type
u guys can use that car when u have to haul more than 2 people around.
get more room. our G's arent exactly cargo friendly.

350z would be nice...

just depends on what "other uses" u guys might use the car for. so ur G doesnt get the daily abuse of grocery shopping.hauling things..etc..which im hating right now.lol...

Agreed. Nothing more annoying than having to warm up my G and deal with the garage and stuff. I'd rather be putting that wear an tear on a 4dr economy car.

She would seriously take a dump on the floor if I got her a 350z. She agrees with my that a PPW 350z is absolute best looking car in our range. She wants one BADLY. But at the same time we wouldn't have a good 4dr car to drive people in.

Also, INSURANCE. Shes only 18! Insurance on a 350z would be over $2000 a year EASY.

Plus, If I got her the 350z I would take my g35 back to stock and eventually do a TT, built block, roll cage, CF EVERYTHING. Meh.

I want to get her a 00 civic or integra(3,500 to 6k), buy new carpet for my house, and get me a set of coils/camber kit for my G. Everyone's happy.

Also I have $1,700 left on my student loan at $135 a month. I'd be nice to free up that money every month.

LOL I told her I REALLY want a 240sx to go ape**** on(VQ swap?). I pointed a s13 hatch out and she was like EWWWWW it looks like a piece of ****. LOL.

She does like the look of an s14 with a kouki front. Maybe an s14? Is the insurance bad on an s14, as bad as a Z?

So many options.

Are you like marrying this girl? Cause I'd personally suggest nothing, but I guess I'm a bit conservative like that.

How about a 2002 G20 Sport?

Can be had for cheap, big trunk for that size, backseats that arent useless, fun to drive. My friend has one, its a good little car.
