Re: infiniti 20

i guess samething with the J. and i assume it only has to do with options and trim.

can i also assume it was a 2.0 ltr engine?

Re: infiniti 20

You are correct, it was a 2.0 ltr. There was also a J30. It looked similar to an Altima, the back was round shaped.

Re: infiniti 20

I think the "t" versions had some upgraded suspension bits and wheels and tires. And I think the spoiler? Not positive however.

Re: infiniti 20

I know there also is a I30T and I35T you can ask Infiniti what the major difference was.

Re: infiniti 20

The t version of the G20 and the I30/I35 are the sport versions....usually you get the spoiler and body effects, fog lights on the G20t, upgrade suspension as well.........

Re: infiniti 20

I believe the T means the touring edition. Like what was said before, it's basically upgraded suspension, wheels, and some other minor stuff. Also, the spoiler was standard with the I30t's...not sure about the rest.

Oh, and the G20's engine is a 2.0 liter engine. engine code is sr20de i believe. Only if they put the sr20det(turbo) like nissan has in their silvia's.

Re: infiniti 20

the toyota corolla has 3 models, base, luxury and sport. the only thing the sport has are side skirts and a leather steering wheel - real performance items

Re: infiniti 20

The term "touring" is usually used when the throw in a little extra sport and a little extra luxury over the standard package.

Re: infiniti 20

Oh man... the G20... where do I start =)

The touring model is basically a fully loaded G20 with a limited slip tranny. The earlier models also had a black leather interior with very supportive recaro like seats (only way to get black leather interior on the car) and it was somewhat common for those to get stolen. Although everyone says/thinks the touring suspension is different, it's actually the same. Other infiniti models do vary though between the touring and non touring models (some with even more elaborate options).

Early G20t's (94-96) had the vlsd tranny, better seats, black leather interior, fog lights, spoiler, and a moonroof. Those were all options on a standard P10, except for the tranny (except in Canada, some Canadian cars came with that tranny as an option). In stock trim the odler G20's (91-96) weigh anywhere from ~2700lbs to ~2900lbs, newer models (99-02) weigh even more.

That motor's rated at 140fp/132ft.lbs, but puts down roughly 120whp and 125ft.lbs of torque on a dyno. Not staggering numbers, but with a few simple modifications you can easily see an extra 30+whp with a very solid, broad powerband.

My G20 right now has about 180whp and considering the powerband, gearing and weight, could keep up with most G35's. Oh yeah, it'll also probably pull over 1.0 lateral G on a skidpad, with a little bit of suspension tweaking, and that's with a tire about 2/3rd's the width most of you guys throw on your G35's. =P

But then again, it's no G35....
