Holly crap, this is insaneeeee

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VGOkgOBgCg

I didn't know the Joker liked 240sx, he is narrating the video

Anyways this is just insane, i know this will blow as a drift car the engine is too heavy but, 10+ for this 240sx on some ingenuity. I used to own a 240sx and they are fun to drive, but this will just turn heads at a drag strip with all the muscle cars.

That is definitely a sick 240! Reminds me of a few other vids I've seen in the past with LS1 engine swaps, like this Evo:

What's funny is this is probably the only swap that really makes much sense on a 240. Most of the other swaps that have been done improve the starting point but I've probably seen dozens of 240's w/ RB20's, SR20's, and even VQ's that are never able to go far beyond stock. Coupled with the fact that most of them are clapped out S13's w/ multi-colored body panels, worn through upholstery, and the requisite hole where the stereo should be. It's funny, almost no matter what they've swapped in, they almost never dyno much past the 200-250whp range and most idle like a 4yr old wired in the ECU. They probably could have bought a high miles 350Z and saved a lot of headache.

I realize they're all going performance over appearance and its little different than the old Fox body Mustang missing a hood and drag skinnies up front. At least the Mustang's likely to have more than 200whp and probably runs faster than the high 13's the 240SX is guaranteed to run with the swapped in boat anchor RB20.

Sorry for the rant...I've definitely seen my fair share of 400+whp SR20's(with power curves that look like a D16 powered Civic up to 4000rpm) and they can be extremely fast. More often than not though, I see half-assed builds with welded diffs, mismatched wheels, and turbos likely missing more than a few blades. They've essentially become the primer painted turbo Civic of the late 90's. Some potential but they really need take a little pride in the build and not bite off more than they can chew.

I can just see it now, Me show up to the track in my 89 body 240sx with tear drip rims in the back and the sporty 1991 240sx 6 spoke rims on the frond (15s or 16s none the less), and pull up next to a 2008 mustang GT and say i am going to smoke your a$$ with my 240. They will all start laughing at me, i try to keep the car as quiet as possible and right after we have the pink slips on the line, i tell him, hey, you want to see my engine? or do you want to hear it. At this point, this kid in his mid 20's probably an accountant for wachovia, thinking that his black GT is all that, will just think i am delusional, or crazy. He will be cocky to say, nahh ill see it when i take it home before i sell that 240 to the foundry. Then i will laugh and leave him thinking, hey i heard of some crazy dude on you tube had put an LS1 on a 240sx. All his bodies are laughing until they are realize that the 240 sounds like a V8 and when they see the front wheels come 10 inches off the tarmac and the car lurch like a chained pit bull, by this time that analyst will be wishing that he had not been so cocky.

Anyways, hahahah, this is crazy, i have drank too much Merlot tonight. If this doesnt make sense, it is not supposed to.

Eeh, you've been with the wrong community. As a long time 240 guy, yea I did see some weak-*** budget builds, but the majority were REALLY nice cars. My friend had one of the 400whp SR cars you speak of, and he re-built it with a twin-scroll setup, only makes 330whp now, but spools very quickly. Another friend raced an S14 competitively in GT against Vettes, Vipers, M3's, etc, and won a season. He's on this forum too, he owns Sequence Garage, currently has a 350Z race car. The reason he switched is the series banned old cars, and he had to get something within 5 years of current.
Other friend had a high 300whp S15 front end show winning KA-T powered S14. And one with an LS1 in his race car, he moved from a SOHC KA-T running 30psi making well over 400whp to the LS1, because he had heat problems and an uneven torque curve.
Either way, the cars are dirt cheap, and a retarded amount of fun. I liked my S13 just as much, or more than I like my G right now. I was getting "too old" to be driving a slammed, gutted, caged car with no AC or radio on public roads.
