GTO vs 2006 coupe

Hey guys I just wanted to know which one you think is better and why. I know the GTO has more horsepower but is it worth getting over the nicer interior of the g? Thanks

different cars=different purposes... and better in what way are you asking?

Stock vs Stock
G handles better (GTO w/ suspension mods will be equal)
GTO is much faster (FI for G's to catch up)
Looks (G hands down)
Interior (G hands down)
Luxury (G hands down)
Modabality(GTO hands down)

It really comes down to preference and what you want.

Fuel economy will be terrible (comparatively) in the GTO. The engine is nearly twice as large.

GTO is a decent value, I just don't really care for the way it looks. If I had to own a GM car, I would definitely consider the GTO. I have noticed you can pick these up pretty cheap in the used market now.

Well, the GTO wasn't an option here when I bought my G, but the way I see it, it's a better version of the Mustang. I just could never own a domestic, that's all.

What about Australian? It's built there.

To the OP, if you are referring to the LS2 powered GTO, 400hp/400ft lbs of torque makes up for alot of interior faults. Although the Aussie Holden interiors are much better looking than what GM puts out here in the USA

fuel economy wouldnt be much of a difference... a bit but i think it is more dependent upon driver habits.

Agreed, G's get awful fuel economy, as far as I know C6 Vettes, including the Z06 have better fuel economy

Jeff - Yea, I know, but I'm also the person that convinced my parents to pay extra for a Toyota Matrix, so it doesn't have a Pontiac badge on the hood.
