Best car to get for 40K??

My gf came into some money and wants to buy a "fun" car with some of it, is willing so spend up to 40k. I've been a car guy my whole life, just its mostly been dealing with domestic and old muscle cars. My G is my first ever import. She initially wanted a SRT8, but I quickly squashed that when I told her its a tank and runs like a high 13....way too slow for a car that expensive. Shes lookin at BMWs now, so I thought Id ask what some good BMW sport coupes where that are about that price range? Open to anything really that about 40k and new, no used preferably.

Down payment on a GTR

I have painted three of the new Charger srt8's and there nice. The last one was so much faster then the first two, the owner told me he had a computer and tune and got like 80 more hp. I dont know how tru that was but it was much faster then the first two I drove.

I love the Challenger, its just too d@mn heavy. Its got mad hp, but mustang GTs with a few bolt ons will will run with it just bc of the weight difference.

Thats exactly my point. The MUCH cheaper in every way mustang keeps up with an American legend....FAIL on Dodges part The Challenger should be near corvette fast, not sayin Z06. but at least C6 fast. Its the SRT8 ffs...haha

Yea, I really like the look of the S5 over the A5, but again, its performance barely matches the much cheaper bmw 335i.

Can't think of many NEW car's that run quicker than 13's for 40k... I mean the 335 will be more than 40k (after tax etc, you're closer to 50k) and only runs mid to mid upper 13's. The new G's can be had for ~40k, but they run HIGH 13's (13.8)... I've heard SRT-8's running quicker than high 13's... Audi's aren't really known for their straight line speed (unless you're thinking RS models), and my a regular A5 will run u close to 50 b/c EVERYTHING is an option....
