B.S. I was so mad after reading this in Car and Driver I decided to write the editors this letter...

"Who would've thunk it, a BMW in first place. Even though you ranked it the same in 'Performance" compared to the Infiniti. Was there a column left out of "Chassis" and "Power-train" graphs where the 328i absolutely excelled in to cause the tie in the "Final Results"? Let's see, the Infiniti out braked, out maneuvered, and lets not forget, bested your prized BMW in six of seven (tied for skid-pad) acceleration tests not including the top speed (which it lost too). Hell, the BMW didn't win one test over the Infiniti!. At least I won't have to take off my sunglasses to see what radio station is on while sitting in my genuine leather power seats. BMW should be #2 in this test...how ironic considering where I'm reading this!

It's blasphemy and/or heresy to ever put a BMW in 2nd place, even if the car is totally overmatched like the 328 is against the G37. The G has 100 more horsepower and 70 more ft lbs of torque, but that doesn't matter because it's a BMW! It might be "buttery smooth", but it's still getting it's arse kicked all over the track by the G. I can see why the 335 is winning everything, but the 328 is pretty wimpy relative to the competition these days. C&D is just sucking up to the Germans.

Dude, CD gets such a woody for the BMW 3 series, they are like "We got word that BMW was sending us another 3 series, and we, JIZZED, in, our paints!"

I mean, there will be a comparo between a Hummer, Range Rover, and a Land Cruiser and a fricken 328i will win the comparo.

I bet if you drive into the CD lot, its all 3 series.

Probably, but maybe if they get enough alerting them of their errors, they will wake up and smell the exhaust fumes of a G37 as it walks all over their stupid 328i.

That's just how all the main car mags are...one of the ones that I get was reviewing the best bets for used cars. Even though the G ranked above the BMW, they still made the statement that the G was 9/10 the car the Bimmer was. The 3-series will always be the benchmark.

They are good cars for sure, but when you put them next to the G (among other cars) and compare price, performance, and reliability, I just don't see how BMW really is number one. I would say the TL is also a better car than the 3-series in almost every aspect as well (except for the annoying FWD "problem").

I think a TL is slightly quicker (in a straight line) than the older E46 body style 330i. Just from my test drives.

I like the BMW, but i didnt. not as much value.

Unless some twatwaffle 328i owner comes in and waves that C&D article in our faces claiming he has the better car, why worry about it?

FWIW, I still think BMW does suspensions a touch better than Infiniti. They have tons more experience in RWD chassis handling than Infniti.

But I agree that the 328i just gives up too much in the hp/torque dept to beat the G37 overall just with a slightly better chassis
