After seeing how over rated the G35 is from the factory then really seeing one on the dyno I have no faith in import horsepower or torque numbers. The mustangs have always been dead on with the traditional loss to the rear wheels whereas alot of imports that I have seen fall short.
You know i cant just let you bash a G for its dyno. I understand the import vs. domestic thing, but i stand behind my G 100%. Heres the best comparison information i could find:

Stock Rating 2005 G35 from factory: 298/298
Stock 2005 G35 Dyno:

Drivetrain loss:
53/298 = 15% hp
69/298 = 24.1% tq

Stock Mustang Gt 2006 from factory: 300/320
Stock 2006 Dyno:

Drivetrain loss:
71/300 = 24% hp
85/320 = 26.5% tq

Dynojet used for both, weather could be different and many factors could play in, but these numbers speak for themselves. Both cars are 100% stock and these are the highest STOCK values i could find on the interwebs. IM sure there are better mustang dyno's, and im sure there are better G dyno's, this is what 30 mins of research got me. Through this i am proving NOT that the G35 is better, but that the numbers ARE in fact close, the G can prove itself just as much as any mustang.
Help... post STOCK dynos perhaps?

But don't forget the weight difference

Fully Loaded G35 with all options: about 3500lb

Mustang Base: 3454
Mustang GT: 3575
Mustang GT Conv. 3600
Mustang GT500: 3920

it may not seem like a lot

75 lbs is like a sub or a small child
weight has nothing to do with dyno numbers either. unless its drivetrain.

since we're talking numbers, why not any 1/4 mile times? IMO that is probably the best way to compare cars on paper. 60 ft times, trap speeds...

"no faith in import horsepower or torque numbers"

...what does that even mean

sounds like he is a bit biased ...

I know it has nothing to do with the engine power

I was showing a normal mustang is basically identical in power and wieght

the G doesn't have 298 tq. It has 260tq I think with rev-up, so there is less drivetrain loss than you think, only 11.9% i think

gotta love Ford transmissions that absorb almost 1/4 of the engines power.

IDK if that stang was auto or stick, but 05+ GTs usually put down around 260-270 to the wheels stock.
