'Grats, Shane. Will be fun. Can't wait to see your new toy.

Btw, I don't have the car yet so I haven't tackled the gas door release yet.
Mmmmm how's your tolerance for (relatively) stiff suspensions? Fortunately (Unfortunately?) the AP2V1 has the softest of all s2k suspensions...

The biggest factor will be noise like Spud said. I actually carry a box of earplugs in my car. Enjoy the cruise I seem to be more tolerant of noise than Spud however, as I never thought the windnoise got crazy until you get over 85.

Also, wind noise and earplugs are interesting, as they filter out kinda selectively. When you have earplugs on, you'll hear tire humming, road resonances, and the "top flapping" sound. However, earplugs also eliminate the engine and exhaust drone.

You'll notice the AP2 has much more low-end grunt than a AP1 (6%), slightly more torque coupled with power oriented (instead of fuel efficient) cams, and about 12% more agressive gearing for 1-4 adds up.

Make sure you sit rather straight; if you slouch, your back will hurt on a long trip

Childseats can be put on the passenger side

PM if you have questions

Thanks for the post Mike. Any time I've driven an S2k, I never had any complaints about the noise. I am thinking I'll too big a grin on my face to even care about the noise.

GPW > all, when I get mine, it'll have to be an 02 GPW. AP1 + all red interior is a must.
