370z

Drove a 6M 370Z recently and was surprised at how "soft" the power felt compared to my G. Maybe it was the throttle mapping which is more aggressive in the G, but the Z felt underpowered for 330 odd hp. I love the body lines and it handled great, but the power was disappointing.

It's the VVEL. It makes the throttle super smooth. It feels slower, but truth is that it is much faster.

I noticed the OP has an 07. Did you ever get your ECU reflashed? 2007's had a problem with unlinear throttle mapping which is why our cars feel so much "faster" when you first hit the throttle.

The 07's were the only year to have this issue as it was fixed in 2008 and can be fixed for free if you just take it to the dealer and ask.

The 370z is capable of very low 13 second 1/4 mile runs at 105 mph and sub 5 second 0-60 in OEM form. G35's are not capable of that in stock form.

I love my G35, but I really like the 370z a lot.

I love 370. Supersexy and fast.

Props to Nissan engineers. They did a good job.

My 2k9 G feels sluggish as well compared to my wife's 2k8 G .. but i agree with the above post -- the 2k9 has a smoother power delivery and is slightly quicker

racing those two in a same track at the same time 370 will always be atleast 0.5 seconds quicker. 400lb is a lot of weight. Generally every 200lb will shave little over 2.0 seconds off the ET.

really!? the 2nd gen G35 is quick but i doubt mid 13's in stock form, unless there is a timeslip that proves otherwise. a 370 will take it everytime(dependant on driver skill), power to weight ratio is key. in regards to the new 370, i love the interior! i wouldnt picking one up as a project car in the future.

Actually this isn't just talk.. I believe the 1/4 mile times for our car is b/w 13.6 and 13.8 depending on the magazine IIRC

Bench racing in 3, 2, 1.... wait, im too late.

A stock 370Z is faster then any stock G. I have to admit, I felt the same thing when I test drove it. It doesn't feel fast. Maybe its the linear powerband. Or the fact that my 06 Coupe has more torque due to my NA mods. But the fact is, im not faster than a 370Z, even with my NA mods.

Agreed, the 370z may not feel faster, but it is certainly more refined.
