how to turbo a integra? help.

whats up everyone.

looking to get a low budget turbo setup for a 99 integra gs 5 MT ....***correction not auto. its a 5spd manual.
current setup is cold air intake, headers, test pipes, full exhaust, stage 2 act clutch.

i know that probably not a lot of you here may be knowledgeable but there was not a good place to post this. and also i tried going on the honda/acura forums and they are allllllll serious _______.

im just looking for a simple ebay setup yes i am aware this isnt the best or safest way for the car i just dont see a need to spend thousands of dollars on a name brand setup.

all i wanted was some simple help suggestions to how easy or hard and what other parts or accessories or anything else that i would need for a setup, or if anyone knows any possible power gains from these kits

i just want to piece one myself and see how far i can get just for fun. pretty much just going for some looks and some power gains.

im thinking of running 5llbs boost right now then maybe up it to 7lbs. and hoping it doesnt blow up then.

these are the kits im looking at

any help suggestions to which kit or additional things i would need or anything at all personal suggestions. all welcome.

once again this is just something im doing for fun and to see what i come up with thanks. hope i can count on my G people.

simple + eBay turbo + budget = terrible plan. Not to be rude, but if you are going to do it then do it right the first time. For the most part, the eBay turbo kits are "universal" kits and the piping isn't bent right and there's a host of other parts you will need.

Also, how do you have a clutch in a 5AT......AT = Automatic Transmission.

Also, instead of asking questions in the Honda/Acura forums try reading up on the topic. This isn't something you just jump right into. Everyone wants the short and simple answer for complex things because they are too tired or lazy to research. I'm sure the Honda boys have plenty of good DIY's and topics on this.

The first 2 kits will technically work since the piping looks about correct. The 2nd 2 are universal kits so you'd better be comfortable with cutting/welding.

The problem is that with the generic kits, the quality control is terrible. The turbos on these kits are much more likely to fail than with a quality product. It a turbo fails, there is potential for motor damage. The other problem is that the wastegate is junk. If that fails and the boost spikes, again, your motor could go. Not to mention the BOV will probably leak and the IC is crap.

There are plenty of decent kits at decent prices. Sure, they won't have as much bling as one of these kits, but you're likely to be better off in the long run. Or piece together your own. That's what I did back in the day on an '00 Integra. Just sourced all the parts (they're amazingly cheap) and fabbed the pipes up. Cost will come in better than buying a name brand full kit and you'll have the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

Save your money and don't waste it on cheaply boosting a stock B series with an auto tranny.

If you're determined to do it, I'd replace the auto with a manual. And whatever you do, don't skimp on the engine management and tune.

Other than that, GL.
