G vs IS
I know the comparison has been brought up numerous times before and the vast majority of people on here seem satisfied with their purchase.
However, if the two cars cost the same or more similar, would you have still bought the G? i.e. was your G purchase more of a financial decision?

I personally couldn't be happier, I have driven both prior to my purchase and the IS just doesn't seem to engage me. The G handles so much better in my opinion and is more fun to drive. It would of made no difference to me if the IS was cheaper I would of still ended up in the G35!

I didn't even have it on my shopping list. It is just too small and for me, the looks are much more bland than when the gen1 IS arrived on the seen. On the other hand, the G improved on the 1st gen in almost every way.

Even though I loved the looks and the overall numbers of the IS, I couldn't get over the fact that it is tiny and alot more expensive than a 'better' car, plus the fact that the G35 offered AWD with its 306hp...and I was sold.
So to answer your question, although financial implications were present, the G was the better choice regardless of price. I would do it again even if the G was more expensive, atleast with the G, it is justified :-)

Yeah if you read thru the previous threads of it you realize most people had issue with the car no with the price tag. Too small, too artifical steering, etc.

Let's put it this way, I love my car. It does everything well. I love the interior. However, I'm not going to lie, every time I see a 350IS, I do take a look and "wonder".
Of course, that could be because my car has spent so much time in the shop compared to with me that I just haven't fully appreciated it yet.

The same goes for me. Aside from how feminine the car looks at first and second stare, it also felt a little underpowered. My final decision came down to luxury, and performance, with G, I get a great deal of both. With the IS, you get the luxury, but not the performance.

Whoa whoa whoa. a 250? At least compare like to like here.
I honestly loved the way the IS350 drove and responded. I liked the automatic, but I like the paddles the G offered better (of course, I got the stick so it's moot). I like the size of the G better, at least interior and trunk wise. The navigation system is consistently rated in the top and I absolutely love that. I just remember really liking the way the IS drove and in Atlanta city traffic, the auto could of come in handy every now and then. I also am enamored with Lexus service...although I really don't have complaints about Infiniti so far.

Besides being much smaller on the inside, the insurance is much higher on an IS-F.

you did what? bought an IS?
and, let's not forget... a) I only bought my G 3 months ago. b) it's been in the shop for at least 4-5 weeks of that time. c) I still can't afford an IS.
