How are the BMW 135i's?

I test drove a BMW 135i when they first came out and I was really impressed with the sports car feel that it had. I liked its small size and how nimble it felt, not to mention the power.

Anyone know a 135i owner?? Is there much you can do to them (that inexpensive) to get more performance since they are already turbo?

Anyone know how they are holding up mechanically?

A old co-worker of mine had one. It has the exact same engine found in the 335i's and with literally a +/- $1000 tune you can have a solid mid/high 12 sec car on street tires.

There have been a few issue's with bad fuel pumps and a friend with a 335i just went through 2 335i's because of tranny/fuel pump failure/problems. But IMO, if you're looking to mod it's one of the best bang for you buck with mods.

Most of factory boosted cars are good with mods.

the 135 isn't too much cheaper than the 335. I'd rather shell out a couple extra $$$ for the 335.

The 135 is ugly to the point where I'd gladly pay the price premium for the 335.

I liked the small size of the 135i though. If I were to pay the extra $$ I would just pay a little more and get an M3. then a couple more $$$ and get an M5.. or a few more $$ and get an M6... it just goes on....

as far as the whole price thing goes, I am very interested in the 135i later down the road. like maybe in another 2-3 years once the depreciation hits them more. I have never purchased a car new, only bikes.

370z is faster in every category especially in handling.

135 can be made really fast strait line but make sure to get auto for high hp car. 6MTs are known to give up anything over 400hp on the 3.

Not trying to start an debate or go OT but I've never heard of a problem with 6MT's giving up anything over 400hp.

My point exactly... I gotta keep within my finical limits... Believe me, not much would make me happier than being about to buy a Bugatti... however, If I were to win the lottery, my first purchases would be 2, yes 2, GT3's and then a Ferrari 355. But in reality, I could possibly afford a 135i in the next few years.

the 370z would be a nice choice also, but I like having something a little different from the norm, and the 350z are all over my area, and I am seeing 370's weekly already.

$600 chip gives you like an extra 80 HP just like with the 335i. I wouldn't mind driving one even though it's ugly.

Buddy has a 135i with a tune and that **** is quick. mid to high 12's on street tires is easy. Can get into the 11's with other supporting mods i bet.I dont think hes had much trouble overall with it either. Ive driven multiple times in it it rides well and is a grat car overall. Decent amount of space inside too.
