I am surprised I never see the ACR in any comparisons though, would make it more interesting. Kinda like none of the companies really want to compare their car to one.
I see the GT-R, Z06, R8, and 911T.

I believe the ZR-1 should be in another league (think Murcielago/SLR/Enzo).

The reason why I don't feel the ACR should be included - that's like throwing in an Ariel Atom in there. It's a street legal race car. It doesn't have any creature comforts of a grand touring car. Now, if the ACR wasn't adjusted (but that's not using the car to its full potential), it would fit better, but it has a clear advantage (think Ascari A10).

I don't think that price should be the only classification for comparison - but relative performance as well. If it was just price, we could throw in a Hummer, LS430, and a Range Rover.

You may get 800hp...but you still won't have Carbon Ceramic Brakes ( which alone cost about $30-$40K ).

I still think GM should have made Carbon Brakes optional... I see no need to include them when 99.9999999% of people will not take advantage of them.

Also, FWIW, LPE got their ZR1 to run a 10.0@141mph with just bolt ons and even running the stock manifold/exhaust setup. I can only imagine how much power you can get out of this car without modding it much....I really think 800-900whp is possible before really having to shell out the big bucks.

^ Agreed. The ZR-1 is a straight-line beast. Would anybody here like to drive an 800rwhp car in the rain, or at a road course? Have at it - it's well beyond my ability.

Do you think you'd be able to use more of that power in the GT-R?

AP Racing is coming out with CC rotors (the calipers are the same on the Spec-V and the base GT-R). I imagine that it's going to cost a lot less then what you are suggesting. Those prices are for factory (which I got rid of within 6 months).

I agree..although I doubt you'd put your foot down in the rain even if you had 300whp...lol.

I can't remember where I saw it...somewhere it said that the CC brakes caost something like $30-40K...that's the entire package though ( rotors, calipers, hats, etc. ). I'll look around to see if I can find it.

Check this out... I found somewhere on the motortrend saying that the brake pads on the Ferrari Enzo cost $9,000 and the discs cost $24,000. Crazy stuff...the ZR-1 just happens to use modified Enzo brakes so I guess prices should be similar....I think it's just stupid.

The cost of the CC brakes for the Spec-V is ~$50k.

I have a lot of fun in the rain. Both on public streets (within the speed limit), and on track. The car inspires confidence. And yes, I've floored it plenty in wet weather (even while turning) - I do leave the VDC -normal-.

Experience the GT-R in the rain, and you'll see exactly what I mean.

I just noticed your location - I'm permanently jealous of you. I was just there 3 weeks ago (San Juan for two weeks) for work.

lol... my brother lives in Texas and he says he can go for almost 6 months without rain....I've never, in my entire life, have known a single month without rain ( I believe 1 month was the maximum and it was a severe drought ).

Off topic?

Er not even close - GT-R carries 3 girls and the rest of so-called supercars can only impress one at a time.

Why have three porkchops when you can have one filet mignon.
