2007 Lexus IS350

Thinking of trading in the G for a 2007 Lexus IS350.

Pretty much a straight trade as the cost of my G is the same as the Lexus. (Infiniti's are worth a lot more up in Canada still).

Thoughts?

Reasons I'm trading in is a want a sedan, I want a bigger car, and I'm sick of driving cars that ride like a brick.

I would trade it in. I personally love the is350 and the fact that Lexus stands behind their products and have one of the best customer service ever. I am done with Infiniti's/Nissans.

Bigger car? IS is hardly any bigger. I'd suggest you get a second gen sedan or maybe 335i (not that big either but better than IS).

Yeah, what I mean by bigger car is more room inside. IE: 4 doors, etc..

To those who have suggest a G35 sedan, sorry. Can't do it. I love the coupes but the sedans....:O

The IS350 does absolutley nothing for me.

Heres a story about a guy who sold his Coupe for an IS.

03 Coupe. He loved the car. He detailed it every other week and it was spotless. Decided to get something new after all those years of ownership. He decided he wanted a Lexus IS250 AWD. He loved it at first, all the toys etc. About 2 weeks ago we were discussing in a thread, and i asked him how the Lexus was going. He said he absolutley hated it. He hasn't detailed it ONCE since he owned it. He says it does absolutley NOTHING for him. The backseat is useless (he said there is honestly more room in his coupe) and the whole car drives like a grandma mobile.

True story and exact words.

Have fun in your lexus. I'll stick with the G35 sedan.

Comparing an IS250 to a 350? Like comparing a 3 series to an M.

Oh really? didn't know the 350 had a bigger interior. Btw, a 3 Series IS and M. And no not an equivalent comparison since the 335 almost puts down the same numbers the M3 does. Fail #1.

Have you driven one of these? They are a FWD(unless AWD which you didn't sate) women's car(still women's even with AWD). You will fall asleep at the wheel, they are no fun and have no power to play with. Fail #2.

The G sedan is faster than the G coupe. Fail #3

If you're going to sell the G to buy a toyota, at least buy the ISF. That is the only car I respect in Toyota's line up. They're performance cars died with the MR2 and Supra.

Who fails? I know.

I really cannot think of anything I hate more than people that make a thread pretending they're asking for an opinion when in reality they want complete strangers to validate their choice over the internet. You want it? Get it. Anyone here could care less. IMO, it's a good looking car, but it ends there. It has one of the tiniest, most worthless token back seats I've ever seen in my life. My beater 93 Civic has more room. I dare say the coupe has more legroom.
Honestly, I was looking at the IS... for my mom. It was a better choice than anything in its class for her needs. If I were looking for a vehicle for myself, it wouldn't even make it to the long list, much less be short listed for a test drive.

Edit: The F does nothing for me either... In order for me to buy one, I'd have to have been in an accident that would have damaged my left leg, so I can't work a manual, and won't buy an M3 and given me sufficient brain damage as well, so that I don't have the good sense to just get a C63 AMG instead.

I wasn't asking anyone to validate my opinion. I was asking for thoughts, expect someone to get defensive when a reply starts off with "you're a fail..."

Have you driven a C63AMG? it's fails in every department compared to the M3. It rides as rough as **** and at times is just downright uncomfortable.

Anyway,

The car is RWD as far as I know. It also has more HP than my G coupe.

Again I'm not looking for people to agree with me. I'm asking of people's honest opinions. If you want to flame; there's a civic forum that awaits you.

Which is why I listed the M3 above it... not sure how you read otherwise. I would always pick the M3, unless I was physically disabled in such a way that I am unable to work a manual transmission, because I can't stand automatics. In such a scenario, where I'm stuck with a slushbox mobile, I'd rather have one that looks good, and performs well, aka C63 over one that... only really has price going for it, such as the IS-F.
