Opinions on a trade

i currently own a 2004 Automatic G35 Coupe
I was offered to trade it for a 2001 supercharged s2000.
I currently have 86k on the car with full option
the s2k has 103k, the supercharger was recently put on.
Just looking for opinions
would you guys do the trade?

Yea, but I'm highly biased toward S2000's

No.

A forced induction car that just went forced induction at over 160,000kms is a BAD idea. That car is past it's prime and will have serious issues down the road. Ask Zeadlots, he put a turbo on his car around 110k miles and the engine blew up in two weeks.

I personally would never buy a car that had aftermarket forced induction unless it was built by a highly reputable company like Top secret or something.

Don't go for it, it will end up to be a headache. If you want something new sell the G and find what you want.

The reliability of an FI build is 90% quality of the components, install and tune, and 10% the engine's previous condition. From what I saw, zeadlots setup was completely hacked together, even a brand new car would've blown. With FI, you've gotta pay to play, and he ignored that rule and suffered the consequences.

I wouldnt do it. Your trading for an older, cheaper car with more miles. Sounds like a headache.

You can't argue that a recently supercharged car with that many miles is going to be healthy. Any engine with that kind of mileage will not hold up to any kind of boost it's not use to. That thing will blow up before 200,000(sorry meant kms 120k MILES) and if it doesn't, it will be worth nothing.

There's another person I'm looking to trade with. It's a 2001 with the same mileage as mine. Should I go with that one instead?

I still wouldn't, your car is an 04 but at least you know how it's been maintained and treated. I wouldn't trade down a perfectly good car for something that's eight years old that I didn't intimately know the maintenance history for. Just doesn't make any sense and even though it may end just fine, why risk potential headaches?

But it seems like you're looking for affirmation more than anything else, so if you want an S2000 that bad, then go for it and hope for the best.

If just wouldn't make sense to sell an 04 Infiniti for an 01 Honda... even a straight up trade. Your car is worth more than that Honda. You would be getting ripped off.

S2ks are fun, but buy one as a second car or something. I can't imagine having one as my primary vehicle... i couldn't do it personally. I need something practical..
