A 2.4 litre Formula One engine at 19,000 rpm has a 25 m/s mean piston speed (39.7 mm×2×19000 rpm / 60

25.143333 (meters per second) = 4,949.475 feet per minute

Keep in mind the 2009 season engines had a 18,000 RPM limit...

quick check of their math, they are using average velocity at the given RPM.
simple to calculate for any known stroke and RPM combination

(stroke inches) x 2 (it goes up and down in 1 stroke) x RPM = inches per minute

ipm / 12 = feet per minute

that puts a revup at 4005 fpm @ 7500 rpm

I've read the S2000 had near F1 pistons speeds, apparently "near" meant slightly faster...

A rev-up would do 7000, so 3,738.84514 ft/min

Your figure would be for the HR

The VQ37VHR is 4,232.28346 ft/min
