Just test drove the genesis 3.8 coupe AT
Compared to my stock G Coupe:
It was a base 3.8 Auto. It has better seats, i liked how it had standard paddle shifters even though they felt very cheap, steering felt more precise/firm, and the exhaust is a lot louder than my G. I loved its exhaust, thanks to the genesis I will probably get a aftermarket exhaust for my coupe. The suspension was no where near as firm as my G. Power wise felt exactly the same however the AT down shifting/up shifting was not as fast and crisp as my AT. And the interior was just ugly.

I equated my drive in both the Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track and 2.0T-Track to driving a stiffer more tossable and more precise G35. By stiff, I meant chassis rigidity which the G35 horrifyingly lacks. Tossable means it feels lighter and precise is an attribute to being both lighter and more rigid. As far as ride harshness, I do agree the G feels a little more stiffer sprung, but certainly not as solid. The interior is definitely a down play, but for being mostly plastic, it is well put together and I would say better so than the G35.
This was during Hyundai's Genesis Experience so this was with both cars driven on an auto-x, so not some babied heavily watched dealer test drive. I would love for my G35 to come as rigid as the Genesis coupe, the benchmarking they did against the M3 definitely shows through. Now compared to a G37, I bet there is much gained for Infiniti due the refinement that went into it over the G35 and the additional power, but I doubt it feels as tossable as a Gen-Coupe and for being $15k-$10k less you can't argue with that. In terms of cross-comparison shopping, I would say a Genesis is for someone who is either looking for best bang for buck against the G37 (I'm excluding the domestics) or for someone looking for a more tunerish car. For me personally I would only buy a low mileage used G37 over a new Genesis, otherwise I'd convert and take on the Genesis full heartedly while still saving a few grand over a used G.

Guys... come on... a Hyundai?
comparing it to an Infiniti?......... Besides, it looks like a bloated Tiburon. I heard a joke once... Hyundai is Korean for "crap".Seriously though, I know Hyundais have come a long way, but if I was shopping for a new (or used) vehicle, a Hyundai won't be on my list. A matter of principle... and yes, I've driven/ridden in a few, not even close to the other big Japanese names. Still feels cheap to me...

having driven a green 2.0T Premium AT and a red 3.8 Track 6MT
i can honestly say my 05 coupe 6MT is better Dont get my wrong both the 2.0T AT and 3.8 6MT drive good but they feel cheap. the leather seats in the 3.8 are better than the G seats i will give it that. The 6MT tranny in the 3.8 was pretty smooth, i really did not get to test it out since the car is new and my friend told me to drive normal. oh i didnt like that reverse was where 1st should be I did love those damn Brembo brakes though

Btw, nice job on the quote reproduction. For a second there, I thought there was really a BMW owner guy with the exact same quote as me... then I realized you were trying to be funny...

I'll admit I haven't driven one but I have rode in one and while the quality isn't up to par with Infiniti, by no means is "cheap". As far as the quote, i'm simply restating what BMW owner's thought of when the G came out as a "bang for your buck" similar to what the Genesis is now. Wasn't necessarily trying to be funny, just take a trip to bimmerforums and you'll see what i'm talking about. Just remember it wasn't until recently where Infiniti was considered a "competitor" against the european car makers. I predict Hyundai will be very close, if not right next to Nissan, in the next few years in terms of bang for your buck and overall package. After all, they are copying every car manufacturers styling
