My parents are getting a new car this weekend.

And just curious what we should look at? They want to lease a cheaper car for the next 1-2 years thats new.

They test drove a Camry the other day, but Saturday im taking them to look at a V6 Altima and hope they can work a deal on a lease.

Any other cars like that, that we should look at? Any other deals going on that we should look into? My dad is holding off on leasing a nice car again like his current 08 G for a year or 2 and is doing something cheapish/still nice for my mom right now.

Why doesn't your dad like Hondas? Or do YOU not like Hondas?

There's nothing a mature adult wouldn't like about them. Good on gas, ride great, roomy for their size class and last forever.

I don't really care for Hondas either, but this is my DAD and he DOESN'T like Hondas. I know he doesn't. It isn't to his preference.

Do people have to like hondas? Is that like some certain creed or soemthing?

My dad wants something thats pretty nice and will give him a good lease payment. An Accord he probably wouldn't go for. Idk why, but he just doesn't like them. Sorry. People have different tastes.

We don't need it to last forever. Its going away in 1-2 years.

if it's not for a long period of time you can try Chevy.

They have 60 day satisfaction guarantee thing going on right now and stats show that it gets 30+mpg highway.

Good ideas. The Jetta would be nice. Wonder if they deal on them...

I'd go with the V6 Altima. They just did a minor facelift and cleaned up the bumper, looks even better now.

Or check out the Maxima. I've seen some really good deals around here due to the economy.

If you want the LONGEST lasting car, get a Honda.

The sad proof: look at all the riced up 80's and 90's hondas on the road. There are more Hondas than anything else

If they want the CHEAPEST car, a stripped Yaris or Camry will take the prize. The Altima has the most power in its class, but is far from the cheapest, especially on a lease. A Honda or Toyota will win that.

Yeah a VW would be cool if they wanted to hang onto it for like a year or two, I'm not sure about the lease rates on those, but I've seen enough commercials so it shouldn't be impossible to find a good deal somewhere.

I know you said you were considering the Altima, but what about just looking at a Maxima. I'm not sure what the lease rates are on those, but they're fantastic cars (as we all know ) I wonder what kinda deals you could get on that....

All the ricer Civics and Accords gave my mom a sour taste for Hondas. She works for Allstate and hates the fact that she keeps getting stolen claims...

My dad won't go for a Yaris. Waaay too small. Same with the Corolla.

How about a Sonata?

Altima's are BAD, they have the same oil comsumption problems we do...
I have 2 co workers, who own altimas, 2.5's and 3.5's
also their friends have them also, and all of them have the OC problem...
I would stay away from the Altima... but maybe they fixed all the problems on the newer models... who knows..
