Worst "mod" ever, $100K+ cars

I live in California, and for those of you that may not know, the state had issued carpool stickers that are a yellow and reflective. These were issued to certain cars like hybrids and electric vehicles so that they could drive in the carpool lane without the required number of occupants to qualify as a carpool. The stickers are non-transferable and stay with the original car only. So I passed by this car in a parking lot and gave it a good luck since it was a Telsa, and that car starts at $100K.

So the owner apparently had photocopied a set of stickers into black and white pictures and attached it to the bumper with packaging tape. This car must only be a year or two old and they ran out of the stickers well before this car would have been produced.

It was very dark in the garage and I didn't have a good flash, so it's a little hard to spot. Just thought I'd share it with you.

It's a Tesla and it's electric, so it would qualify as a clean air vehicle.

Those look like crap on a nice car like that.....

I'd be looking at having magnetic labels made up. (put metal backing behind the bumper)
& just use the labels during the commute.

The hybrid cars get yellow access stickers. Electric cars get white ones. It's legit. CNG powered cars are allowed in carpool lanes, too. They will have a blue diamond with "CNG" written on it. Outreach and Paratransit are allowed as well as taxi cabs doing contract work for those two. I once stopped a late 80's S-10 pickup for driving solo in the carpool lane. I couldn't see the access stickers since the truck was white along with the white stickers. The driver provided all the documentation from DMV and popped the hood. Sure enough, he converted the truck over to electric.

True, however this was an actual photocopy onto regular paper. Since the picture was taken in a dark garage, it is hard to see that part of the paper on the left was actually creased as a result of the packaging tape being applied to the paper. The real sticker has glue on it so that it would not need to be applied with tape.
